A few years ago, my journey through Puntland, from Saaxo to Xaabo, was more than just a physical passage, it was a heartfelt connection with the spirit of our people. I walked alongside ordinary Puntlanders, listening to their stories, witnessing their struggles and triumphs, and truly understanding the rhythm of our land. This journey was a reflection of my unwavering commitment to the ideals of Puntland first , a call for each of us to invest in our homeland, nurture our roots, and believe in the boundless potential of Puntland’s future. It was a transformative experience that reshaped my perspective. I came to a simple yet profound conclusion. Puntland is the future. From that moment forward, I have dedicated myself to protecting, preserving, and advancing Puntland. Together, we can build a brighter tomorrow for our people and our land. #Puntlandfirst #PuntExit #Puntlandernimo

The Cost of Political Ambition: How Puntland’s Leadership Risks Its Autonomy Puntland’s autonomy is under threat, not from outside forces alone, but from its own leadership. As Muqdisho centralizes power through unilateral constitutional changes, military interventions, and institutional consolidation, Puntland’s leaders have no clear strategy to protect the region’s long-term autonomy. Instead, energy is wasted on personal ambitions, with the pursuit of the Muqdisho presidency ticket taking priority over safeguarding Puntland’s institutions. This is not merely short-sighted; it is a strategic error that risks trading enduring autonomy for temporary influence. The president’s pursuit of the Muqdisho presidency ticket illustrates the problem. Many supporters claim that centralization can only be countered if Puntland’s leader controls power at the federal level. This misunderstands the reality of political power. Centralization is structural, not personal. Once authority is concentrated, it gains momentum, operating beyond any single leader’s control. Leadership alone cannot stop it. By tying Puntland’s future to personal ambition, the region weakens its credibility and forfeits leverage when clarity and resolve are most needed. Prioritizing national ambition over federal principles sends the wrong message, centralization is acceptable if influence is possible from within. Puntland has the legitimacy, experience, and regional standing to resist this trend. Yet by focusing on personalities rather than institutions, it erodes its own authority and undermines its negotiating position. The stakes are high. Federalism is being quietly dismantled as short-term political calculations take precedence over long-term strategy. If this continues, Puntland risks dependence on decisions made in Muqdisho rather than governance rooted in its own autonomy. Influence becomes conditional, and autonomy becomes uncertain. Correcting this course requires a decisive shift from personalities to principles. Engagement with the federal government must rest on structural safeguards that protect Puntland’s autonomy regardless of who controls national power. Political ambitions must be separated from the defense of Puntland’s core interests. Credibility can only be rebuilt through consistent, principled, and disciplined action. The choice is clear. Puntland can continue chasing short-term political gains and accommodate centralization, or it can assert and defend the institutional foundations that define its governance. Without strategic clarity and discipline, the region risks losing the very autonomy it was created to preserve, not from incapacity, but from ambitions that overshadow long-term interests.

These Somali southerners thought they would be welcomed in Türkiye with kebab and baklava but instead, they were confronted with the harsh reality of Turkish neocolonial arrogance. They saw firsthand how little respect was shown to Somalis traveling through Turkiye, treated as inferior rather than normal people. They could hardly believe it. What they had imagined as hospitality turned into a brutal lesson in condescension. What naive expectations.
Mustafe G Guufe@MustafeGuufe

Turkey may speak the language of brotherhood, but actions matter more than rhetoric. And when control over security, ports, and resources converges in foreign hands, history offers a clear name for it, neocolonialism.

The traditional elders of Puntland praised and encouraged the Puntland First Movement for the relief efforts it provided to the people of Puntland affected by the drought. Alhamdulillah, all praise is due to Allah. Today, Allah blessed parts of Puntland with His mercy through rainfall. We ask Allah, the Most Merciful, to completely relieve us from the drought and grant ease to our people. Indeed, He alone is Ar-Razzaq, the Provider, and in His bounty lies our sustenance.

This is how we celebrating this Eid. Eid Mubarak Umadda Puntlandiyeed!!
Puntland First HQ@PuntlandFirstHQ

Puntland First Movement extends its sincere gratitude to all the generous benefactors from Puntland who contributed to providing Eid support to the orphans of the Puntland Defense Forces, demonstrating strong conscience, unity, and a high sense of social responsibility. We especially commend the generosity and support you extended to the 910 orphans left behind by the heroes who were martyred in the Calmiskaat mountain operation. This valuable contribution brought joy and hope to many hearts at a time when they needed support and care the most. Puntland First Movement also wishes all the people of Puntland a joyful and blessed Eid, sharing this special celebration particularly with the 910 orphaned children who are celebrating with us today. Their happiness is our happiness, and we remain committed to always standing by them. We also express our deep appreciation to the Puntland Defense Forces Command for their close cooperation, trust, and transparency demonstrated throughout the implementation of this humanitarian effort. This partnership is a strong example of how unity and mutual trust can produce tangible benefits for the community. Once again, we thank everyone who contributed to the organization, funding, and execution of these charitable efforts. The Puntland First Movement will continue its role in connecting the community and working toward the common good.

I would like to extend my deepest appreciation and encouragement to the members of the Puntland First Drought Relief Committee for the remarkable work you have carried out in response to the ongoing drought affecting our rural communities. Through your dedication and tireless coordination, the committee has successfully delivered over 30 water trucks to some of the most vulnerable areas across rural Puntland. This effort has brought immediate relief to families, pastoralists, and communities who have been facing severe water shortages. Your work demonstrates the true spirit of service, solidarity, and responsibility that defines the Puntland First Movement. At a time when many communities are struggling, your commitment shows that organized civic action can make a real and meaningful difference in people’s lives. I encourage the committee to continue this important mission with the same determination and unity. Every water delivery represents hope, dignity, and compassion for our people. On behalf of the Movement, I thank you for your leadership, sacrifice, and dedication. May your efforts continue to bring relief and strength to the communities we serve. Together, we stand with our people.
