Why did Allah ask Maryam (AS) to shake the palm tree?
She was in labor. Weak. In pain.
And palm trunks are solid like stone.
She couldn't possibly move it.
Yet Allah said:
"Shake towards you the trunk of the palm tree..."
Why ask the impossible?
Allah could have dropped the dates without effort.
No shaking.
No pain.
No movement.
But He didn't.
Because miracles don't cancel effort. They meet it.
Maryam's (AS) strength wasn't in moving the tree.
It was in not giving up the attempt.
The tree didn't respond to her power.
It responded to her obedience.
Sometimes Allah doesn't ask you to succeed.
He asks you to try.
Even when you feel weak.
Even when the task feels too big.
Because trying keeps your heart alive. And effort keeps your faith awake.
If Allah sent the dates without the shake...
She would have eaten.
But she wouldn't have grown.
So when you're tired and still asked to take one step... That step is the worship.
Not the result.
That's why Allah ties provision to movement.
Even when He alone creates the outcome.
Maryam A.S didn't shake the tree.
She shook herself out of despair.
And Allah sent the fruit.
Your job is not to make miracles.
It is to move even when you feel small.
Allah handles the falling dates.

@BishoNoble @whitenigerian Please remove the PhD. Do not disrespect the institution that awarded it.

@whitenigerian Who is the useless pig heading the interim leadership? If you mention his name then he will be a dead man. Everyone is hiding from the US-ISRAELI jets. You ain't seen nothing yet

At 15, my father sent me to a stranger's house at night.
It changed the trajectory of my life.
I was struggling with Maths.
In Mushin, there was one tutor everyone whispered about.
He was so good he taught the children of the wealthy privately.
Bode Omotowoju Bankole.
My father went to see him.
We couldn't afford his prices.
After much persuasion, the compromise was harder to swallow.
He would charge 100 Naira per hour
but the condition was that I had to spend the night at his place.
He needed every naira he could earn to survive as a UNILAG student.
My mother said no.
My father looked at me
and said nothing.
He hustled for the money.
And he took the risk.
Poverty does not give you perfect conditions.
At night, Bode would wake me:
"Wale, what time is it?"
"3am."
Then we did Maths for two hours.
Night after night.
For weeks.
When I returned to school, something had shifted.
I wasn't catching up.
I was flying.
In the end:
WAEC - A1 (Maths)
NECO - A1 (Maths)
Those foundations stayed with me.
They are part of why I chose Civil Engineering years later when I returned to university as an undergraduate at age 30.
This is why I struggle when I see young people refuse to engage.
This generation faces fewer barriers to knowledge than any in history.
You have:
Khan Academy
ChatGPT (Take a free prompt engineering course to know how to use it well)
World-class professors on YouTube, from India to the US
Entire calculus courses - free
What you are fighting is not scarcity.
It is DISTRACTION.
For the poor African child, the journey has always been hard by design, not by accident.
"The future you is silently depending on the current you to stay disciplined"
If this reframed something for you,
Please share it with someone you love.
And follow for more.
We will rise together.

LAST MAN STANDING!
What an extraordinary life. Today, my father, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, marks 100 years on earth. A full century. He has witnessed colonial rule, the struggles that shaped Nigeria’s independence, and the many victories and trials that followed. In many of these defining moments, he wasn’t just a witness, he was a key player!
Living to 100 is remarkable, but reaching this milestone with a clear mind, strong spirit, and good health is a blessing only a few ever experience.
He is a husband to four wives and a father to 23 children (19 alive and 4 deceased), and a guiding presence to nearly a hundred grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His life is a tapestry of resilience, service, and wisdom, and we continue to draw strength from his example.
May Allah preserve his life, grant him continued good health, and keep his mind sharp so we can continue learning from him, amin.
Happy birthday, Baba! What a legacy!
