Mikal Bridges is a bad basketball player

Mikal Bridges is shooting 29.7% on pull-up threes this season compared to 38.3% on catch and shoot threes. Additionally, Bridges is shooting just 32.7% on above the break threes compared to 40.7% from the corners. The scouting report is clear — allow Bridges to shoot off the dribble threes above the break, run him off the line in catch and shoot looks, especially in the corners. Bridges’ inability to grow as a pull-up three point shooter and operate from above the break really hurts his utility as an on-ball primary scorer. It’s an issue for Brooklyn. Bridges’ on-ball offensive game is too reliant on settling for mid-range jumpers against drop. If that’s taken away through switches or zone, he becomes very reliant on drives to the rim with mixed results.
