It’s that time of year again. We just hit our fourth year in business and we could have done it without all the support you all have given us. We cannot thank you enough! 30 years ago today, I joined the Army. I made it my career. Combat Medical Specialist. Being a combat medic for 20 years was a hell of a ride.

I want to personally thank everyone here that helped him put his father’s history together. This is what I like to see, Vets pulling together to help others, not pulling each other down. SGM Jerry Hanes was and is an American Hero! Everyone here to include our friends at @MAC_VSOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group )and others took time to track down awards, citations, and other historical documents from his time in Vietnam and MACV-SOG. Most of what MACV-SOG did was mostly classified until the early 1990’s. RIP SGM Hanes and thank you for your service!

Six years ago today Senior Chief Petty Officer Shannon Kent was KIA along with Special Forces CW2 Jonathan Farmer, former Navy SEAL Scott A. Wirtz and their Interpreter Ghadir Taher. Senior Chief Petty Officer Shannon Kent was killed in action on Jan. 16, 2019, alongside Special Forces CW2 Jonathan R. Farmer, former Navy SEAL Scott A. Wirtz, and Ghadir Taher, an American working as a civilian interpreter when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a restaurant they were passing in the northern city of Manbij, Syria. Eleven Syrian nationals also died in the attack. ISIS claimed responsibility. RIP to these heroes and sorry for your loss Joe Kent @joekent16jan19, and the families of the other fallen that day. 6 years ago. Shannon Mary Kent KIA 16 January 2019 in Manbij Syria on her 5th combat deployment in special operations. I’m grateful for every moment we had & for the lives we created. Shannon was an amazing wife, mother, friend, sister & daughter. Shannon eternal.
