My pc is basically fully upgrade. Went the budget friendly route (shoutsout AMD for always being in stock) and got a brand new Ryzen 7 5700x and AMD 9060XT. Great setup for 1080p gaming (don’t care to go any higher). Maxed out its ram to 32gb.

@Bri4nF @TongNeverSleeps TNS & their weekly online tournaments are part of what is killing the FGC. No one involved with TNS, "FGC first". They are selfish. They created an enviroment where people dont want to leave their homes & go to regionals or locals. You want to be FGC first, switch to monthlies.

@souzenex @martinismartin @BestUnkleDan @TongNeverSleeps It's the argument that high-level players raise the level of competition locally. Remember, locals were THE ONLY place to prove your sauce. Now they are not. Locals become more a social gathering than high-level competition and it scares people.

@Icege Here is our perspective as an offline venue and old heads. LAN parties died due to online. LAN Centers crumbled due to accessibility. The FGC is rooted in offline. This is what makes us so unique. But, make no mistake, TNS are true innovators too.

We cannot have a sincere conversation about this if folks aren't willing to admit both points can be (and are) true.
I cannot even begin to count how many folks I've heard complain about the lack of locals only to not show up because they "don't benefit as much" from them... ?

With all of the discussion regarding online tourneys vs. locals:
1. Online can HELP the FGC by providing consistent, solid events for players to compete regardless of location.
2. Online events can HURT the FGC. In my area, players would rather wait for TNS than go to locals.

Interesting idea. So many talking about 100 Evo's, things changing, all the bad stuff to come. Likely all true. But, you don't need to wait until 2040 to change this. You can change it now. Get active, come up with new ideas, build something, and establish yourself locally.
