You may not know this, but Swilly didn’t always rock stages, we once tried to become beloved children’s television hosts. It all started innocently enough. One drunken Easter planning session, someone said, “What if we hosted a daytime kids’ show? It’ll be wholesome! Educational! We’ll teach them about friendship… and how to hide from responsibilities.” So on Easter morning 2017, the world was blessed with the premiere of Swilly’s Hoppy Hour of Questionable Life Choices. Highlights included: • The Easter Bunny doing stand-up about his divorce while mainlining what looks like chocolate • Live egg hunts where the eggs unionized and demanded better working conditions • A very special segment called “Zero Responsibilities Corner” that somehow involved fireworks and minor property damage Ratings were through the roof. Lawsuits, however, were even higher. After a record-breaking wave of parental complaints, several emotional damage claims from traumatized Peeps, and one particularly aggressive sensitivity training seminar where we were forced to apologize to a room full of stuffed animals, the network had no choice. Swilly was officially canceled… and then gently returned to the wild like the feral musicians we truly are. But hey, before they dragged us off set, we still managed to deliver one final message: Happy Easter, you glorious little animals! May your basket be full of candy and zero responsibilities. Amen.
