💥 Reported attack on the school ☑️ Pwintbyu, Magway 10 July 2026 The Myanmar military allegedly launched a drone attack that hit the Basic Education Sub-High School( B.E.H.S)- Branch in Oke Hpo Village, Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region, at around noon. According to Khit Thit Media, the strike reportedly damaged several school buildings, including a Grade 10 classroom block. Regarding this incident, Myanmar Witness analysed footage circulating on social media and verified the geolocated damage to the school buildings within Oke Hpo Village using Google Earth. 4/5 The report also identifies a correlation between regional repatriations and conscription. Between February 2024 and May 2025, over 3,313 Myanmar citizens were reportedly repatriated from neighbouring countries. Thailand accounted for 84.4% (2,500+) of these individuals.

(5/5) Two of the sites were also verified as former military bases that were captured and occupied by Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs) and resistance forces. Under Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions, captured personnel must be treated humanely regardless of the nature of the conflict.

💥 Reported airstrike on Kyauktaw Town ☑️ Kyauktaw, Rakhine 17 June 2026 According to a local source, the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) allegedly carried out around five airstrikes on Kyauktaw Town, Rakhine State, on the afternoon of 17 June. At least five civilians reportedly died, over 10 others were injured, and fires were documented in the area. By matching distinctive landmarks from photos circulating on social media with satellite imagery on Google Earth, Myanmar Witness was able to geolocate and verify one of the locations in Kyauktaw reported to have been bombed. 💥 Reported destruction of a school ☑️ Okpho, Bago 23 May 2026 According to Than Lwin Khet News, the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) allegedly launched an airstrike on a school in Tha Yet Hnit Hpyar Lein Village, Okpho Township, Bago Region, at around 9:30 local time on 23 May. Although there were no civilian casualties from the alleged airstrike, one school building was reportedly destroyed. 💥 Reported airstrike in Wuntho ☑️ Wuntho, Sagaing 23 May 2026 According to a local source, a Myanmar Air Force (MAF)‘s fighter jet allegedly carried out two bomb drops near a monastery and internally displaced persons’ (IDP) tents in Sar Twin Village, Wuntho Township, at around 17:15 local time on 23 May. It is reported that two 200-lb bombs were dropped during the first incident, followed by another two 200-lb bombs in the second run. As a result, one person was reportedly killed, a buddhist monk and two 14-year-olds sustained injuries. Myanmar Witness analyzed the footage on social media and used Google Earth to geolocate and confirm the location of the building damage within Sar Twin Village.
