UAB has signed Maryland forward transfer Aleks Alston, @JTalty, @chris_hummer and I have learned. The 6-10 Alston a Class of 2025 top 130 overall recruit.

The #Browns have added longtime NFL executive Trent Baalke in a consultant-like capacity, a source tells @CBSSports. Was most recently general manager of the #Jaguars from 2021-24. Was also a GM with the #49ers from 2011-16.

The NFL Draft saw 22 TEs taken, the most since 2002. It's a reflection of what's been going on with college offenses where tight end production has risen consistently for a decade as teams counter defenses that became smaller to counter spread offenses. cbssports.com/college-footba…

The Florida football team has signed Jacksonville basketball transfer Jaylen Jordan, @chris_hummer and I have learned. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound had participated as a tight end at Florida’s pro day and was recently offered a scholarship by the Gators.

Mississippi State has signed Washington State forward transfer ND Okafor, @chris_hummer and I have learned. The 6-10 Okafor posted averages of 11 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last season. Had committed to Ole Miss earlier this month but has now signed with Mississippi State.

Georgia has signed Ole Miss forward transfer James Scott, @chris_hummer and I have learned. The 6-10 Scott was a starter at Ole Miss. Was previously a starter at Louisville during the 2024-25 season before transferring to Ole Miss. Is ranked as a four-star transfer.

Wooden has interviewed for multiple general manager jobs in the past, the Chargers in 2024, the Bears in 2022 and Washington in 2021

The #Ravens recently added veteran NFL executive JoJo Wooden in a consultant-like capacity, sources tell @CBSSports. Was senior director of player personnel with the Raiders in 2024. Before that, worked for the Chargers from 2013-23, including as interim GM in 2023.

Scobey, a former running back and return specialist who played six seasons in the NFL, worked for Arizona from 2010-23 prior to heading to Jacksonville. Now expected to be hired by Miami.

The #Dolphins are expected to hire #Jaguars senior personnel executive Josh Scobey, sources tell @CBSSports. Before joining Jacksonville in 2024, was director of college scouting for the #Cardinals.

The #Falcons are expected to hire #Bears scout Keith Earle as an area scout, a source tells @CBSSports. Worked with new Atlanta GM Ian Cunningham in both Philadelphia and Chicago. Now expected to join Cunningham’s staff in Atlanta. Had worked for the Bears since 2022.

Former LSU edge rusher Patrick Payton has accepted a rookie minicamp invitation from the #Panthers, a source tells @CBSSports. Before LSU, was a standout and All-ACC selection at Florida State. The 6-5, 260-pounder finished his college career with 143 tackles and 17 sacks.
