Yesterday Somariya signed her NLI to play basketball next year at Manchester University and I couldn’t be prouder of a player than I am of her. To me that is one of the most significant signings in our history because of the work that went into it, the support of a great mother,

Her mom never complained, and Somariya was always thankful for opportunities, and continued to work. She became the starting PG on her varsity team and her mom once again called me with great news. She had 3 offers to play in college and was about to go on visits.

Better still. Her sophomore year she made JV. Once again I got a call midway thru the season that she had been moved up to varsity. She tried out for our team again, and again happily accepted a spot on our B team, but subbed on A. She continued to stay positive & work.

Times when we were shorthanded. She went to HS & made the freshman team. 1/2 way thru the season her mom called me to tell me the good news that she was moved up to JV. She tried out again for our team & was offered a spot on the B team, which she happily took. She worked and got

One of the first girls to walk in the Factory was Somariya Williams. She was a 7th grader who would come take our classes & get individual lessons with me. she tried out for our 7th grade team and didn’t make it. For the 1st time ever, we offered someone a practice player spot.

I am so happy for Somariya. She is an amazing young lady who has had the best attitude and work ethic ever since I met her as a 7th grader. She never stops putting in the work, and her growth has been amazing as a result. God Bless!
