Tomorrow at 2 PM! Drop by the North Atlantic Aviation Museum for a free screening of Sgt. Gander: A Soldier’s Soldier. Filmmaker JP Bear, a U.S. Army veteran visiting from Arizona will be there in person to share the story. The film tells how a Newfoundland dog from Gander became part of the Royal Rifles of Canada during the Second World War.

We will remember them. The courageous men and women. What they gave, what they lost, what they sacrificed… for our freedom. We will celebrate them. We will keep their memories alive. With gratitude, Lest We Forget.

#WackyWednesday Air/Sea Rescue “Cream Team" led by Doug Armstrong were on route to a mission in 1945 when the sled's many engines seemed to have malfunctioned. Rumor has it, they're still in the same spot. Will update with further information when found.

#TributeTuesday Erroll Boyd was born 1891 in Toronto, Ont. In 1915, Boyd travelled to Eng. to enlist in the Royal Flying Corps. He was denied for being colorblind. Boyd was able to join the Royal Naval Air Service and was taught to fly by none other than John Alcock! (cont. ALT)

#MysteryMonday At one point in the last several years, NAAM threw a celebration for the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Museum! Many of you may have been present. What year would NAAM have celebrated 25 years of operation? Who remembers!?

#ThrowbackThursday Dehavilland DH60 on floats. Registration # CF-AGL Aircraft departed St Johns on a flight on behalf of the Grenfell Mission, carrying the pilot Arthur Sullivan and his German passenger Dr. Kuehnert. Plane crashed after take off in 1942 and was never found.
