We will soon be setting our Budget for 2026-27 and it's important that your views are heard before any decisions are taken. We're asking for your thoughts on a range of potential changes, including the level of teaching resource in our schools, reducing Pupil Support Assistant hours, and the frequency of purple and blue bin collections, among others. We have launched our 2026-27 Budget engagement and are inviting residents to have their say on the services which affect them. This includes potential changes to the frequency of purple and blue bin collections, increasing temporary accommodation rents and streamlining the participatory budgeting process. Garnock Valley councillors Anthea Dickson, Donald L. Reid and Margaret Johnson met new tenant Jimmy Ferguson and his dog, Luca, as they saw first hand the new council homes delivered in Beith and Kilbirnie. The new homes form yet another important part of North Ayrshire Council’s ambitious house-building programme which aims to deliver more than 1,600 brand new, energy-efficient homes in every part of North Ayrshire.
