The East Midlands region proudly representing the NAHT at the Derby Silk Mill festival on Saturday. Thank you to Patricia Pritchard our regional officer for sitting on the events committee this year.

We were joined by over 50 members from the region on Friday, to listen to Mike Sherdian (EM Regional Director of OFSTED). He was clear, pragmatic and receptive to members concerns. We look forward to welcoming him back to the region in September to discuss OFSTED and SEND.

Members from the East & West Mids met Sir Kevan Collins today in Derby. He's been appointed as chair of the DfE's non-executive board and is a close adviser to the Sec of State. We shared views on curriculum, inclusion & accountability in a wide-ranging and positive discussion.

Our East Midlands officials met today to discuss our region's priorities over the next few months. SEND & the approach of LA's in the region is clearly the top priority and we are all agreed on the need for NAHT to be a strong voice for school leaders across the region.
