Since 1985, three (3) popes have visited Cameroon four times. Pope John Paul II visited the country twice (1985 and 1995) and Pope Benedict XVI once (2009). And now Pope Leo XIV has visited in 2026. One would be eager to understand why 3 Popes will be visiting a small and corrupt country.

I know many people in #Maroc, #Morocco don’t want to hear this, considering the abuse, a lot of it racist, in reaction to my commentary and reporting in The @guardian and The @ObserverUK, concerning the #AFCON 2025 final palaver, but I will say it, regardless: I have HUGE RESPECT for Morocco, as a country. Your football officials, with whom I personally relate, KNOW this. But I CANNOT, because I respect your country, be your unquestioning sycophant and not do my professional duty correctly. My reputation rests on doing my job WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR and being ACCURATE. I will discharge that responsibility, NO MATTER THE COST. #Senegal did mess up, badly, during the AFCON final. There is no doubt about that. BUT the laws of ⚽️, which I know inside and out, make it clear that the AFCON 🏆 CANNOT be legitimately taken from them. That, my dear friends, is the unvarnished truth. 🙏🏾

Cameroonians made their voices heard. Last October, they showed up in large numbers and voted for change, clearly rejecting Biya at the ballot box. But the outcome didn’t reflect the will of the people. After the results were manipulated, citizens protested. The response was harsh lives were lost, thousands were detained, and many remain behind bars. A key opposition figure even died while in custody, and the candidate widely seen as the rightful winner has been forced into exile in Gambia. The recent constitutional amendment raises even more concerns. It was introduced during a public holiday and pushed through the very next day by a parliament whose mandate had already expired. Out of 380 eligible lawmakers, only 222 participated just over half while a significant number were absent altogether. Over time, repeated changes to the Constitution have stripped it of credibility, turning it into an instrument for maintaining power rather than upholding democratic principles. And even now some people are questioning why Anglophones are fighting. #cameroon #PaulBiya

I would have absolutely no problem with a 50/50 split if the man also became pregnant, gave birth to a child, went through life-changing physical and mental changes, and continued to be the primary care givers of the children. Anything else is unfair to me. I will contribute what I choose, but I will never accept a 50/50 financial split with a man. Many men from Africa understand this because that’s how they were raised by their parents except for those who move to the West, adopt a 50/50 arrangement with a woman, and still expect to be the head of the family. You don't necessarily need to take care of the woman's personal needs if she is working, but you need to take care of your kids and other household logistics.

🚨🇮🇱🇮🇷 The IRGC has officially confirmed that Alireza Tangsiri, commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy, was killed by an Israeli missile strike. He commanded Iran's entire naval force; its Gulf operations, its strait positioning, its deterrence posture in the water. When the IRGC stops denying and starts confirming, the strike was too public to bury. @Visegrad24

🇮🇱🇮🇷 The man running the Strait of Hormuz is dead Israel killed IRGC Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri in a strike in Bandar Abbas. He controlled ship traffic, mines, and the entire Hormuz operation for weeks. The strike also killed IRGC Navy Intelligence chief Behnam Rezaei and other senior commanders. The Secretary General of @CAF_Media, Mr. @VeronMosengo has officially stepped down following mounting pressure over his continued stay in office beyond the mandated retirement rules. CAF regulations clearly define age limits and term extensions, and his tenure had exceeded those boundaries raising serious concerns about governance, transparency, and the legality of decisions made during that period. While there was no major scandal, the growing tension within CAF leadership and calls for accountability made his position increasingly untenable. His resignation appears to be a move to restore stability and protect the integrity of African football administration. This situation highlights the importance of respecting institutional rules and ensuring strong governance in football. What are your thoughts on this development? 🤔⚽ Looks like #senegal is going to be the downfall of CAF. They have brought out the corruption level within CAF and now everyone seems to be running away.😀😀😀 #AFCON2025 #morroco #AFCON #relatable

I found this on TikTok this morning. I was actually shedding tears as I watched it. @der_neukoellner, thank you for speaking up for thousands of migrants. Most often, people do not fight back because they understand they are uninvited guests especially refugees. So, I blame some of our governments, who forced their citizens to look for greener pastures due to bad governance. @dieLinke #Governance #racism #migration #bundestag #germany

Football is more than just goals and trophies it’s about character, leadership, and how you carry yourself when the game tests you the most. The request by @CAF_Media for Mr. Mané to return his award is unprecedented.. During the AFCON finals, @SMane_Officiel didn’t just play as a footballer he stood tall as a leader. In the middle of confusion, tension, and controversy, he showed patience, understanding, and composure. While others could have lost control, he remained on the pitch, focused, calm, and respectful to the game. That moment alone speaks louder than any statistic. Awards are not only given for skill, but for influence, discipline, and leadership and Mané embodied all of that when it mattered most. In difficult circumstances, he represented not just Senegal, but African football with dignity. If football is truly about values, then Sadio Mané has already proven why he deserves to keep that award. As a continent we must all stand up against this injustice. @AfricaFactsZone @sergehopejordan @Fsfofficielle #Respect #AFCON #SadioMane #Leadership #Football #CAF
