@NCCLicensing has received an email from the parent of a student, thanking a Hackney driver for ensuring his daughter got home safely after her drink had been spiked. The driver also rang the parent to check that someone would be at home to meet her.

Drivers-from 28/05/25, the Nottm University Park will be closed to through traffic between 7am-7pm for the next 12 months during the A52 roadworks. Physical barriers will be in place to prevent access.

If you receive a phone call asking you to pay your fee for your premises licence or personal licence over the phone, DON'T PAY, only make payment using the payment methods on the reverse of your invoice.

On Friday 21 March a joint IPFH operation with held at the QMC & City Centre with @nottspolice @cpo_taxi @Rushcliffe @GedlingBC Wolverhampton Council & Neighbourhood Support Officers. 6 drivers were caught & will be prosecuted for IPFH & no insurance

6 PCNS were issued over the weekend to private vehicles parked in Hackney ranks.

@ChHussainSaab The PCNs were issued to private cars parked illegally in Hackney ranks, NOT to Hackney Carriages that were illegally parked.

@NCCLicensing Oh your awake when you spot a Hc parked illegally, why are they parked like that, let me tell you!! Private cars left in legitimate ranks, you guys are no where to be seen!! Why are black the HC’s to be parking illegally when the ranks are used by public dumping their cars?

@cpo_taxi have found yet another out of town PHV with a tyre worn down to the cord. Drivers - you are licensed for public safety, check you vehicles before you start work.

@NCCLicensing has prosecuted 4 x PHV drivers for IPFH & no insurance. 2 x drivers fined £2337.97 & 8 penalty points, 1 x driver fined £1057.79 & 8 penalty points & 1 x driver fined £1721.97 & 8 penalty points.

@Splash1038 @cpo_taxi They reduced their fees quite substantially a few years ago and licence over 48,000 drivers nationally, second only to TFL, as a result. We are currently working to encourage Nottm based drivers to return to be licensed with NCC and are seeing some success.

@NCCLicensing @cpo_taxi Thank you that makes sense but why Wolverhampton ? There are literally hundreds of them . Surely if they are working here they should be licensed here .

Out of town PHV che ked by @cpo_taxi and both rear tyres were worn down to the cord. The driver's licensing authority have been notified. This is why carrying out daily checks on your vehicle is important.

@Splash1038 @cpo_taxi This is allowed by sec 55a Deregulation Act 2015, which permits cross border working.

@NCCLicensing @cpo_taxi Just a question why do a lot of the taxis I see in Nottingham have their licenses issued in Wolverhampton yet work here . Can’t be right surely
