Big news, our new portal is almost here! We’re targeting a go-live date of April 13, 2026. To prepare for launch, there will be a temporary blackout period from April 4–12, during which the current system will be unavailable. Here’s what you need to know: • You can still submit paper applications during this time • Processing will pause and resume once the new system goes live • All pending applications and items will be transferred and handled in the new portal

Following a comprehensive audit of our #NCAA bracket, we’ve concluded that the initial projections were not prepared in accordance with generally accepted March Madness principles. There were significant errors in judgment, including improper valuation of mid-majors and a complete failure to account for ‘Cinderella’ volatility. As a result, we are issuing an immediate restatement of all #FinalFour assumptions and recognizing a total loss on several “sure thing” investments. Our internal controls clearly failed—specifically, an overconfidence bias and a lack of independence from hype. At this time, we are entering a rebuilding phase and shifting to a ‘just enjoy the games’ strategy. We appreciate your patience during this difficult reporting period.

On March 16, 2026, the Board approved 128 individuals for CPA licensure (zurl.co/rpvYG) in North Carolina. Becoming a CPA isn’t easy, and that’s exactly what makes this achievement so meaningful. It takes targeted education, passing one of the most challenging professional exams, gaining real-world experience, and demonstrating a strong commitment to ethics and professionalism. Congratulations; we look forward to the impact you will make in the years ahead.

Living in North Carolina means checking the weather… and then checking it again 20 minutes later. Morning: winter coat. Lunch: short sleeves. Afternoon: thunderstorm. Evening: “Why is there pollen on EVERYTHING?” If you don’t like the weather in North Carolina, just wait five minutes. Or walk into a different parking lot. 🌦️🌞🌧️

🎉 A Milestone Worth Celebrating! 🎉 On this day in 1913, the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners was officially created, marking the beginning of more than a century of protecting the public and advancing the accounting profession in North Carolina. For over 100 years, the Board has worked to ensure that North Carolina CPAs meet the highest standards of competence, integrity, and professionalism. From administering the CPA Exam to licensing and regulating the profession, that mission remains just as important today as it was in 1913. Here’s to the vision that started it all, and to the generations of CPAs who continue to uphold that legacy every day.

Applied for your CPA license and checking the meeting agenda for your name? If you don’t see it yet, don’t worry—there are a couple of reasons why that’s normal. The names shown on the meeting agenda appear as part of the prior month’s meeting minutes. That means the names listed are applicants who were approved at the previous meeting, not applicants who will be approved at the upcoming meeting. CPA license applications are processed in the order they’re received, and the full review process takes time. Please allow at least six weeks for your application to be received, reviewed, processed, and approved.

In North Carolina, the day before the men's #ACC tournament starts is a little like the calm before the storm. Today is the day to answer the emails, finish the projects, and check a few extra things off the to-do list, because once the games begin, productivity across the state may mysteriously dip. So consider this your friendly reminder: ✔ Get a little extra done today ✔ Perfect the art of the discreet scoreboard check ✔ Be ready for a few “important meetings” with your TV And, congrats to the #Duke women for beating #Louisville in that OT thriller to become #ACC champs!
