We contacted @TwitterSupport, who did not respond until after my account was reactivated. They have provided no reason for my account suspension, nor have they offered an apology. This sort of capricious treatment doesn’t speak well for Twitter’s role in free and open discourse.

Several weeks ago, a member of my team alerted me that our Twitter account had been suspended. This came as a surprise to all of us. After reviewing the terms of service, I could find no justification for this action.

I recently had the opportunity to discuss with John Weber from AM Best TV the faults in the rating used by the NFIP which results in disadvantages to the lower value, lower risk properties. Along with the opportunities in privet flood insurance. ambest.com/video/MediaArc…

Early this morning, here in Salt Lake City, we experienced a 5.7 Richter Scale earthquake. Everyone at Poulton Associates is safe and sound. It’s a reminder that mother nature doesn’t pay attention to what we think, but we should pay attention to what she’s capable of.

Our research with @HazardHubUSA revealed an #NFIP that subsidizes wealthy homeowners at the expense of lower-income homeowners and taxpayers. See our report at the link below: bit.ly/2VquuPY

Our research demonstrates an #NFIP that benefits wealthy homeowners. Rates are higher for lower-income households, while loss ratios are higher for areas with pricier property values. Read our full report here: bit.ly/2VquuPY

Though Congress required the NFIP to raise rates in the Biggert-Waters Act to more actuarily sound levels, #NFIP rates have actually decreased over the last 5 years. Learn more about the issues with the NFIP in our latest report with @HazardHubUSA bit.ly/2VquuPY

This is one of the fundamental problems with the #NFIP today. They are essentially encouraging development in flood-prone areas. Our new report shows loss ratios are higher in areas with high property values — where riskier development has been permitted: bit.ly/2VquuPY

The Congressional briefing has come to a close. Thank you to those who joined us for this important conversation about the revealing data from the HazardHub report and the need for flood insurance reform.
