We just added the first REH conversion to our closures website. (bit.ly/ruralclosures) We know there are more but are refining our confirmation process so that we can apply consistently moving forward. We expect to update with more next week.

Uncertainty remains about who will convert to REH. Each rural hospital and community face numerous problems and challenges. Ultimately, decisions about conversion to a new provider type may be driven by more than data or the immediate financial considerations. -30-

Takeaway: We see four factors as determining the decision to convert to an REH -- Risk of financial distress and closure, The business case, Community support, Consolidation.
