Cassandra L. Thomson, Duke Law Professor and Director of the Duke Law School Program on Negotiation & Dispute Resolution, and two of her students propose to the DRC the creation of a new mediation program that would provide law students the opportunity of mediating court matters.

Duke Law students attend the DRC's March 2026 Meeting to request the creation of an Ad Hoc Law Student Mediator Committee.

The DRC welcomes new Commission Member the Honorable Justin Davis whose term began October 1, 2025 and ends September 30, 2028. He was appointed to the DRC by Chief Justice Paul Newby.
