@Lancelot_1_1 @BrankoMilan @SauroMocetti high entry barriers for outsiders; often due to regulatory barriers (ex. pharmacy, notary) or formal/informal institutions acting as gatekeepers and discouraging more intensively people with weak social connections

Why Italy has probably the highest homoploutia in the world? (The same people are both among the richest capitalists and richest wage-earners.) Some 40% of those in the top Italian income decile are homoploutic vs. around 25-30% in other rich economies.

New paper with my great friend and coauthor @rjhagen . A contribution within our broder research agenda on failed asylum seekers & assisted return scheme. Hope to improve policy-making in this important area for the benefit of migrants & host countries
Rune Jansen Hagen@rjhagen

New paper with my great coauthor @NDConiglio! Assisted return programmes - meant to facilitate return of e.g., failed asylum seekers - will be time-inconsistent if policymakers cannot commit to support levels as the pull effect on arrivals is ignored link.springer.com/article/10.100…

(NEW STUDY) MONEY, HAPPINESS (& TIME) Socio-economic research on whether money buys happiness has produced mixed results. Many studies show that happiness increases with income but only up to a certain point. Beyond that, more money doesn't necessarily make people happier. 1/5
