I had this setup marked out for days. It was a low-probability trade, with sentiment being the main reason for the entry. It finally triggered yesterday while I was in transit, so I couldn’t even share it with my friends before it took off. The trade pushed over 1:1 RR, but when I checked it again this morning, I noticed it was reversing. Price came all the way back to my entry and started going negative. Instead of hoping, I reanalyzed the trade. One thing I learned today is that it’s mentally difficult to reanalyze a trade you’ve already spent time analyzing. Your mind naturally wants to defend the original bias. But I didn’t let that take advantage of me. The fresh analysis gave me a solid reason to close the position, so I accepted a small loss and moved on. Protecting capital should always be the top priority over feelings.

Having someone you can discuss concepts with, challenge ideas alongside, and hold each other accountable will speed up your progress more than you think. Many things won’t truly click until you hear another perspective or explain yours. And that brings me to the most powerful part. Teach what you’ve learned. The moment you try explaining a concept to someone else, you’ll immediately discover what you truly understand and what you only thought you understood. Teaching forces clarity, and clarity creates retention. This applies to trading, school, business, and almost every skill you’ll ever learn. Don’t just consume information. Engage with it. That’s how knowledge becomes competence.
