Something that's been on my chest for a while, and after yesterday's exchange with a former player that I respect, @j_wilson015 - it felt only right to get it all out in writing. Take it for what it's worth... Heck, I rode the bench... but I do love that @vandyboys program more than anything, and felt obligated to finally call "a spade, a spade". I hope I am wrong, and we go on an unbelievable run. It will always be #AnchorDown & #GoDores for life! #VanderbiltBaseball

Lol. Appreciate you making it personal, especially with all the insight you have on the situation and my past! None of what I wrote had anything to do with it being personal… and I could have easily gone there over a decade ago. Debate what I wrote in the article, don’t take personal shots on something you know nothing about.

So when DJ recruited guys he gets credit but Brownie recruits guys and Tim Corbin gets it? It’s laughable to disparage what Scott Brown has done at Vanderbilt. The issue the last couple of years has been a putrid offense. One year the pitching is down and this is what an alumni with *checks notes* 3 2/3rds innings pitched in a career says? I could be wrong but this seems like a personal issue you have with Brown for not getting on the mound in one meaningful game in your career. This is bad.

I do want to just highlight a few reminders: - I am not taking away anyone's past accomplishments or calling for anyone's job (trust me, if I were calling for someone's job, it would have been a long time ago and included much more of "my personal experience") - I am saying that there is a clear lack of development on this year's staff - which is inexcusable, and that the "injury excuse" doesn't cut it for me. It's weak and a cop out. - IT IS MY OPINION, (and was not easy to post)... I openly admit I don't know everything about the day-to-day of the program; however, I do love it more than anything.

I am saying that the injury excuse that is being used is weak and unacceptable... Trust me, if I were calling for someone's job on an outlier of a season, I would have included much more of "my experience", which I chose not to publicly. Again, this is *my opinion* based on *my experience* with the program - which I am entitled to.

Brownie has turned down numerous offers elsewhere to be a head coach, according to Corbs. His track record is pretty outstanding considering how many of his pitchers have gone on to MLB careers. Blaming him for this season’s rash of injuries is somewhat comical.

Being “deep” in today’s day and age is HARD. Kids who are SEC caliber talent pool don’t want to sit, so they go to a mid major and play. Depth is an issue for many bluebloods. Oh and I ❤️ U @NEViNWiLSON!!!

.@j_wilson015 We clearly had different experiences there, but I played for both and have my personal opinion. Brownie can clearly coach. We also can clearly recruit. However, this free ride some are giving because of “injuries” is just weak. To me, it’s a lack of developing depth which should never be a problem for a Vanderbilt baseball team. I know your teams were deep. My teams were certainly deep. And the program is even bigger and more attractive than ever. So talent isn’t the issue… again if we had 9 pitchers injured that’s one thing. But it’s simply not the case

No offense to Brownie, but Kumar and Jack were going to be Kumar and Jack even if I were their pitching coach. I clearly stated we have ALWAYS been great at pitching. We are the OG Pitching U. That's why I believe the injury excuse is rubbish... Again, I am not saying he is a horrible pitching coach. He is accomplished, no doubt. But I played for him, had my experiences, and this year - outlier or not - shows a serious problem (again, in my opinion).

A few years before that, even after Kumar and Jack, I think we led the country in strikeouts. Now, this year is an utter disaster, but it's a clear outlier for the program and for Brownie since he's been here.
