@EnitanOyekanm @StatiSense Makes sense, criminals would naturally migrate to environments with less policing or security 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yes, every part of “Lagos State” (actually beyond the present boundaries) was in the Lagos Colony. . . Egba people escaped down from the interior into Abeokuta for refugee, hiding & watching in 𝟭𝟴𝟯𝟬. So yeah they didn’t found any town 70km further south (while in that ‘under-rock’ hideout) in 𝟭𝟴𝟯𝟬. . . Abule-Ẹgba goes back to the 1860s resettlement by Glover. They were resettled into part of Ebute-Metta (to be Agọ-Ẹgba) while part of Ọpẹbi (to be Abule-Onigbagbọ), & parts of Ọgba (to be Abule-Ẹgba) as farmlands for the resettled fleeing Egba. ————— 🛑Don’t be like Igbos. It is more than disgraceful
Akogun Smith@akogunsmith

Was Abule Egba part of Lagos Colony? Abule Egba town was founded by Egba people around 1830 before colonization, but you’re confusing it with the persecuted CMS Missionaries and their Egba coverts that were resettled by Governor Glover around Ebute Meta in 1867 after Ifole riot.

@theOlaBola What manner of exposure do some of u so-called educated Yorubas hav? U pose as knowledgeable, but quick 2 assume things when ur position is probed (not even denied) quick 2 kill intellectual discourse wit rhetorics as soon as ur reasoning is challenged. Disappointing. I'm not Egba

i should prove to a delusional thief that aworiland is aworiland, otherwise you’ll make sh!t up & type it out whether coherent or not & say it’s for egbas BTW, Egbas got to Abeokuta in 1830. Aworis had settled in Abeokuta first. Hence, Abeokuta is not Egbaland. Go back to Ibadan. Go face your fears. Ṣ'o l'oo stupid ni…

@theOlaBola Alright. Thought as much. Have u seen this though. Clearly states Ebute meta was annexed from Egbas as retaliation for setting up custom posts close to the coast. Glover seem to have did them dirty just before Egba independence. Do you have any rebuttals with source?

@omolisabi1 I detest when people pretend 2 or genuinely try 2 hide history on d ground that it isn't pleasant. Do y'all think Yorubas r uneducated 2 understand what history is? What manner of redundant mindset is that? If u know, spill with proof & allow rebuttals. Won't trigger war or hate

Egba people, you don't own land in Lagos. This thing you people are dragging, don't let them go bring our history out; it's not nice at all. I have seen some of it. Let's just face front, don't set yourselves up.

@okunade_okuwoga @Awoniyami Oh, the confusion is making sense now. The Oluwa would be quicker to accept the Ijebu tag and obanta would rather be hesitant, or even reject it squarely. But Obanta side met the Oluwa in today's Remoland right? Also are Obanta the Akarigbo lineage?

@NEWERNIGERIA @Awoniyami Yes Fa is common to Ekiti and Akin is common to Ondo. Aje/Egbe common to Osun, The real ijebu aboringenes are descendants of OluIwa, Obanta are the migrants from Ile Ife, there is a town called Ijesha Ijebu(Ogun State), they migrated from Ijebu Ijesha in Osun State.

@NEWERNIGERIA @Emimayor27 @Awoniyami There are different waves of migration across Ijebu kingdoms, from Ijebu Ife, Ijebu Imushin, Ijebu Ode, Sagamu, Ijebu waterside, Epe, Ikorodu, and many more. So the dialect is still Ijebu but different accent in all these towns🙂😀😌

@okunade_okuwoga @Emimayor27 @Awoniyami U don confuse me o. But its all good. Someone said it depends on who we ask. A friend from Ode Remo once told me they're not Ijebu, I guess I should have just listened to his story rather than trying to make the "Baba Ijebu" name stick 😄

@NEWERNIGERIA @Emimayor27 @Awoniyami I really missed that discussion, Remo are one of the fifth division of Ijebu Kingdom, some of the first kings of Ode -Remo and Akarigbod were sons of Obaruwa the 6th Awujale, Obanta(3rd Awujale) migrated from Ile Ife, and he met OluIwa, and Osimade.

@HOPEABLEH @Awoniyami Oh, I just knew Oluwa was a top icon for Ijebus. Thanks. They've been around for so long tracing their spirituality can be tricky. The historical constant with them was that when Ife needed allies to do any ijogbon, na them 😄

@Emimayor27 @okunade_okuwoga @Awoniyami Where were u during the Ijebu & Remo discussion? 😄 Some say it's only the Royal house that is Remo but the people are Ijebu & speak Ijebu dialect not Remo. I had my doubts, they're just doubts but what do you think?

@okunade_okuwoga @Awoniyami You're right. Not all Odus are Ijebu but it's certainly more common. Odu is basically Odu Ifa, Ijebus are strongly affiliated with a highly significant Ifa priesthood called Oluwa & seem to adopt the Odu more than Fa. Fa is most common with Ekiti but also not exclusively too

@Awoniyami Of course. Many names were based on family diety. Ifa oriented families used to have Odu or Fa as in Fayemi, Fayose. Esu families had La as in Laderin, Lakanle, Lagelu, Lalude. Some are more obvious like the oguns
