Last night's AGM tasting was something rather enjoyable.

The night is upon us for the NEWTS winter meal @NCL_Lifestyle . 33 people (but likely closer to 50 bottles) will be soon arriving, hopefully for a top evening of food & socialising!

@EdgmondWines Sorry for the slow reply, yes there is, it would be a long trip for you up to Newcastle though? Our programme is already full for 2023 I think, so we’d be looking at 2024?

Oh my. There were also more ‘regular’ wines tonight, but these were fascinating glimpses into the past of the south of Italy. Thanks to Steven for sourcing.

Last night was a fascinating tasting of amphora wines 🏺 by @NorthEastWino . Some orange, some natural, some classical, all interesting. Including the very rarely seen grapes Cartoixa Vermell and Castets, amongst many. 🇪🇸 🇿🇦 🇬🇷 🇵🇹 🇫🇷 🇬🇪 🇮🇹

And off we go…..tickets are now on sale for our long awaited Spring Wine Fair on May 8th @wylambrewery. Don’t miss out on trying lots and lots of lovely wines.

Wonderful South African tasting from long-term member Ken tonight, and nary a Pinotage or rubbery-red in sight. The mini-vertical of Kanonkop Estate Cab (2012-14) was superb - the ‘14 was too young, but the 13 and 12 were delightful!
