@ACasualBantam I hope so. I'm not definitively saying it's good or bad either way. But when making money becomes the priority over quality of product you've got to be wary. College Football is so unique, and some of what makes it great - upsets, GO5, tradition, school loyalty - is in jeopardy.

@NFLDraftSi Aye, but that is because it has been so restrictive at the end of the season A couple of years of fans realising one loss doesn't mean season over straight away will lead to a bigger build-up to the end of the season and more anticipation. Bums on seats and in front of TVs

I bet they fucking do: If this existed in 2025, Brett would have had five schools in the playoffs (TTU, BYU, Utah, Arizona, Houston) & Jim three (Miami, Virginia, Georgia Tech). The big concern is for the consumers. The danger of a late season loss is exciting - do we lose that?

@ACasualBantam If that happens, I will totally be on board. That said, the playoffs have never been the best thing about college football. The regular season is. Anything that could detract from the main body of work should be considered with caution.

Middlesbrough are seeking a sporting sanction rather than financial compensation regarding the ‘Spygate’ incident involving their Championship play-off opponents Southampton. Sources indicated Middlesbrough would prepare for the playoff final regardless of whether they win the tie against Southampton or not. Middlesbrough head coach Kim Hellberg told his pre-match press conference on Monday that he “has a plan for every day up to the final” on May 23 in terms of his players’ training regime. Even if Middlesbrough lose the second leg after the goalless first game last Saturday, the uncertainty of the situation means Hellberg will bring his squad back to Teesside on Wednesday and await news from the English Football League’s independent disciplinary commission.
