Although the Carney government’s promises of economic reform in yesterday’s Throne Speech are weak sauce and will likely be far from enough to save Canada from the disastrous course it is on, we have to acknowledge that they show a radical departure from Trudeau’s insane focus on climate change, wokism, more social programs, and more spending. The government’s seven priorities are all relevant ones that point in the right direction, even though none of them goes far enough: 1. a new economic and security relationship with the U.S.; We need one of course, but as I have been saying, we should put everything on the table to make it work, including dairy supply management. 2. removing barriers to interprovincial trade; That’s been part of the PPc platform since 2018. Glad to see it finally be a government priority! 3. bringing down costs for Canadians; An obviously important priority but the only way to achieve it is to massively cut government spending and excessive regulations, and stop the Bank of Canada from printing money again as it always does when the economy slows down, or when the global debt crisis hits for real sometime soon. There’s little chance of that, Carney is not as crazy as Trudeau but his two main jobs were as money printer and inflationist-in-chief in Canada and Britain. 4. making housing more affordable; Another important priority, which would be achieved if the government immediately imposed a moratorium on immigration as the PPC proposed. They will spend billions to build houses instead. 5. protecting Canadian sovereignty by strengthening the armed forces; Another important priority after years of neglect and woke policies to destroy our armed forces. 6. reducing immigration levels to “sustainable” levels; Isn’t it amazing that what made me and the PPC the targets of smears only a few years ago is now a priority of a Liberal government?!? Unfortunately the Liberals still believe that hundreds of thousands more immigrants per year is sustainable. 7. and spending less on government operations. This is absolutely crucial after a decade of massive growth in the size of the government and its bureaucracy under Trudeau. These priorities are very similar (or perhaps even better) to what a Poilievre government would have proposed. We’ll see what actually gets accomplished. The car is not racing into the brick wall at an accelerating speed as it was under Trudeau, but at a slower one. I just don’t believe it will make much of a difference in the end. What we need is to radically change direction.

So, in this election, the PPC lost roughly 700,000 out of its 840,000 voters from 2021 — 83%. I suspect the vast majority voted for the Conservatives, having succombed to the “don’t split the vote, we must beat the Libs this time!” hysteria. And yet, that strategy failed. We still have another Liberal government! And Poilievre couldn’t even win his own seat! But the insane CPC trolls, and the fake “independent” journalists and influencers paid by the CPC, are still accusing the PPC of helping to elect Carney! They refuse to recognize that Poilievre dropped the ball. That it’s not our fault if he failed to beat the party that has destroyed Canada for a decade. It’s not our fault if he offered a weak platform that was indistinguishable from Carney’s. It’s not our fault if he fell into the trap of letting Carney turn the election into a referendum on Trump, and then felt he had to campaign on the same side as Carney against Trump. It would actually be a lot better for the conservative movement today if the PPC had maintained or even increased its support and shown everyone that there is a strong constituency for our principled conservative, populist, small-government ideas. Short-term electoral gimmicks and empty slogans are not going to save Canada. We need to defend clear conservative ideas, make them acceptable and widely understood, and move the Overton window if we want people to vote for them. Despite this week’s setback, that’s what the PPC will continue to do. Because the fake Conservatives won’t.

In only six years, our presence has had a huge impact on Canadian politics, even though we have not yet elected any Member of Parliament. Six years ago, the PPC was the only party talking about the disastrous impact of mass immigration on our economy and society. Today, everybody knows we were right. The PPC was the only party that opposed lockdowns and vaccine mandates during the covid years. The PPC is the only party that wants to protect our children against the crazy gender ideology. The PPC is the only party that fights for provincial autonomy and proposes a radical decentralization of the Canadian federation. The PPC is the only party that believes CO2 is food for plant and not pollution. The PPC is the only party that wants to drastically downsize our big, fat government in Ottawa. Without the PPC, there would be no debate on some of the most important issues facing Canada today. Canadian politics would shift even further to the left. The coming years will be difficult. We can expect more disastrous policies from the Liberals, and more weak opposition from the fake Conservatives. But the PPC will still be there to offer different solutions. We will continue to force the establishment media and parties to debate our ideas. And we won’t compromise our values.
