Flower Power Competition Open Through June 30: Help Beautify Fairlington! Help Beautify Fairlington!  The Grounds Committee is hosting a first-ever contest of colorful potted flowers in front porch areas.

The Special Committee on Bylaw Amendments meets tomorrow at 7 pm at the Community Center.

Next week is carpet team cleaning week in the apartment hallways (except Ward II which is under renovation) . Ward I (see the addresses below) will be done on Mon May 18th.  Please have all personal belongs, including rugs & mats removed from the common hallways for this project.

Avoid the lines and get your pool passes before Saturday. For safety reasons, the Board recently approved a second lifeguard for weekends @ pool 2 during the busiest part of the summer. The exact two-guard schedule is Fri 3pm-8pm, Sats & Suns 10am-8pm frm July 3rd - Labor Day.

Pool 2 will be open this Saturday from noon to 9:00 PM, so plan to come and enjoy an early start to the pool season. While you are there, check out the newly remodeled bathroom facilities that are now the entry point to the pool enclosure.

Please water the new shrubs as well as the pruned ones to get them back to their original form and vigorously growing through the hot summer months!

Many of the Azaleas can be cut back to about 2ft. and they will regrow into nice full shrubs by Fall with a little help (water).  Shrub watering is a homeowner responsibility, so now is the time to gets those faucets turned on and repaired if needed.

Spring Replacement planting is underway! Last Winter’s  extreme cold and ice-crete event took a huge toll on our Associations plantings. Our landscaper is currently pruning or removing damaged foundation shrubs and replacing the ones that were completely destroyed.
