I’m taking my daughter to class with me tomorrow and have throughout whenever she has days off. I can remember when she was really little I gave a few lectures where she fell asleep while I was carrying her around. Not sure what that says about my lectures...

I welcomed my student to bring her 12 y/o daughter to class today b/c 1) my students have identities outside my classroom 2) her school was on an off week 3) she got to meet a paleontologist for the first time (outreach!) 😎 4) kids ask the best questions #AcademicChatter

@avgtimeonice In October 2015, I carved two pumpkins for Halloween: one pumpkin depicted Jose Bautista flipping his bat.
The second pumpkin was carved to resemble said bat. Fittingly, it was placed approximately 18' away from the aforementioned Bautista pumpkin.

@avgtimeonice This league doesn't tweet often. But here we are, standing up for our beliefs - him flipping the stick was nifty. At the very least it was nifty. Hockey players doing this more often is supported from this side of life. But if you ever again rank an event ahead of THE bat flip...
