4th Grade Knights

This was a common theme on our way back to school yesterday. Many of our tired campers took the time to rest up before greeting their families as they got off the bus at NH. That’s a wrap for our CSC trip, see you soon!

Campfire and a talent show on Tuesday night. We had a lot of laughs and some delicious s’mores. I was proud of all our NH Knights who showcased their talents without fear of teasing from their peers. Everything was pretty much perfect.

Ms. Masuda showed her newest talent on the archery range @ CSC. She was really excited to try this activity with the kids. She was not disappointed in her performance.

Fun times with old and new friends at camp St. Croix. What a great experience for the students at Normandale Hills. Can’t wait to get back there next year!

A quiet calm before the storm. The kids all made it through the first night and we are ready to start Day 2 at Camp St. Croix. Here we go Normandale Hills!

Tonight we are learning all about wolves and their importance to their ecosystem. The kids and adults are learning a lot of interesting information.

Camp St. Croix has been amazing so far. We have been able to get outside and explore this amazing facility. The kids have been enjoying all of the activities.

Last week we had our annual visit with the Bloomington Fire Department. Students learned about important safety issues and each received their Junior Fire Safety Inspector certificates. We always appreciate their visits.

A well deserved award winner from the April rally on Friday. Rykar has displayed all of the characteristics that a Kindness Kid should exemplify. Very happy to be able to recognize this fine young man.

These geographical rock stars finished out the month of April with the top scores in our Where On Earth regions trivia. Congratulations to James, Loami, Ava, and Will. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to Will. He was chosen at the rally last Friday to have Pizza with the Principal. As you can see he is quite excited.

Our trip to Twins stadium was a huge success! We had a behind the scenes look at the stadium and how it was designed. Students also applied their knowledge of perimeter and area to help calculate the total area of home plate. Thanks to all the staff and parents who helped out!

James was the March “Where On Earth” geography winner. He had a 41/42 for total points. We have been learning about the different regions of the United States. Keep up the great work!

Better late than never. Congratulations to Sophie for being the February “Where On Earth?” winner. She received a 31/32 possible points for the month. Great work!

Liam is a math machine! He was able to master both Subtraction and Multiplication facts in less than a week. Keep up the great work buddy.

Our 4th Grade Wax Museum came to life yesterday at Normandale Hills. My class put on a great performance for the students, staff, and parents in attendance. Thanks to everyone who attended!

Mrs. Shriner introduced the families to a traditional African song and dance at last night’s Festival of Learning. This group was inspired to celebrate the African culture through their skilled choreography. Thanks Shriner, you’re amazing!

Festival 2023 is in the books. It was truly an amazing evening. Thanks to all the NH staff, families, and students who made this event possible. It was a great turnout!

The February Kind Kid is Angel. He is constantly looking for ways to spread kindness in and out of the classroom. Angel is a great friend and classmate to everyone. His smile and good nature are contagious. He truly deserves this recognition.
