Shooters shoot. Since 2013, only 10 USHL forwards that were u18 at the start of their season have been able to score above a point-per-game AND shoot more than 3.9 shots per game. #2018NHLDraft eligible Oliver Wahlstrom is 3rd in PTS/GP among those forwards.

Looking back at 2004 draft, after the 60th pick I see 19 useful skaters selected (in retrospect). Of them, 11 are over-age and four are more than one year over-age. (If you count CStoner 79th-- borderline useful?-- then 12 of 20.)... (1 of 2)

Really difficult for me to decide on one or the other. Both have similar upside IMO, but it is very hard to try to predict who will have more. I'm gonna have a tough time when I release my next rankings.

Quinn Hughes vs Adam Boqvist is a better argument than Andrei Svechnikov vs Filip Zadina. Hughes-Boqvist is legitimately close (at least in my books), while Svechnikov still has a decent lead on Zadina IMO.
