At the heart of Samagra Shishu Bal Swasthya Karyakram (SSBSK) is a first-of-its-kind risk-stratified approach that enables early identification and enhanced follow-up of ‘At-risk’ newborns and young children, including those with low birth weight, prematurity, delayed initiation of breastfeeding, discharge from newborn care units, malnutrition, recurrent illness, or developmental delays. For the first time, SSBSK introduces: ✅ Risk-stratified care with up to 9 home visits for at-risk newborns and 8 home visits for at-risk children. ✅ Joint home visits by ASHAs, ANMs, CHOs & AWWs. ✅ Well-Baby Sessions at every VHSND and monthly Shishu Shivirs at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. ✅ Maternal mental health screening and nurturing care for early childhood development. ✅ Digital child-wise tracking through DSS, integrated with JANANI, U-WIN, RBSK 2.0 & POSHAN Tracker.
