Great day at UN Training School supporting HDAC candidates. Thanks to Minister Nesbitt for attending to observe impressive demo by NIAS & NAS Specialist Response colleagues. Also our CAWT and AACE partners for facilitating NSSAR development. Cross-border partnership in practice.

Neighbourhood working brings care closer to home centred around patients- enabled by primary, community, social care and the voluntary sector. Ambulance services play a key role in supporting triage, treating in place, and connecting people into local pathways. @NIAS999

Great discussion at #ALF2026 on the shift towards neighbourhood care. Struck by Andy Knoxs' comments- reminder that real transformation comes from mobilising communities not rebadging existing services. Genuine partnership with communities can result in profound patient impact.

Timely discharge when patients are medically fit makes a real difference to ambulance availability. It frees up beds and helps our crews return to the road sooner to reach the next 999 patient. A whole system effort, thank you to everyone playing their part @NIAS999
South Eastern Trust@setrust

It is really vital that you leave hospital when you are medically fit. This frees up a bed for someone who is acutely unwell. When you or your loved one urgently needed admission to hospital, a patient was discharged to provide your bed. We are all in this together. Thank you

This week’s podcast with Kieran Devine stands out for its sincerity, a reflection from someone who has performed many roles across NIAS but always leading. Kieran's experience across the frontline and control, especially during very different times in NI, is worth a listen.

Yesterday I had the privilege to graduate with an MSc Critical Care with distinction from @EdinburghUni, also achieving the ‘highest performing student’ award. I did so alongside my family, and close friend and fellow @NIAS999 paramedic Kelsey.

Our crews and call-handlers step into difficult situations every day. They deserve respect and safety. This week’s podcast speaks honestly about violence and aggression and the toll it takes. We all have a role in stopping the abuse. #StopTheAbuse @NIAS999
