Some of my AI Slop, but starting to share what my page was meant for. Mini-me, age 9 or 10, fishing in the 1980s small town Minnesota. Those heavy buckets! Getting those nightcrawlers was a pain in the butt, but luckily we had a small fishing store right in town.
Back then, Casey’s General was literally sitting on dirt and we'd throw our bikes off tomthe side and we'd grab our Mambas Candy and pack it together like a sandwhich and buy our "much needed" Gremlins candy dispensors with a Dr. Pepper.. Their were only two to three aisles and no Casey's pizza at the time. .
Right next to it was the gas station with two pumps. The bait shop was off to the right where a liquor store is built now and there was a stream running behind it where we could catch crawfish. I think the guy even took our empty glass bottles and cans for us down to the Red Owl.
Back than their was a thing called walking and I mean walking everwhere. So having someone do things for you as a kid was a privilege and you would say thank you sir or maam. In fact it was engrained to say the phrase.
I still remember the person working the bait shop saying. "What are you boys catching today? Heard your cousin caught a Northern today" Than the big fishing talk would start.
That was Minnesota nice.
A share like or repost is always nice. Thanks. .
