That means Kobe sets the offense, which creates opportunities for everything to flow. The film literally supports this.

He also stated that Kobe was the primary ball handler, the lead facilitator (which the assists supports) and the person who initiated the offense from the perimeter. Phil Jackson agrees.

The lead playmaker will actually have more hockey assists than pure assists, because their job is to create the perimeter advantage and put the offense in flow. It’s also an iso predicated offense. You don’t seem to get this
