For many years, Khan al-Ahmar was the humanitarian equivalent of E-1, to which it is intimately related. The demolition of Khan al-Ahmar is a humanitarian crime so serious that it became viewed universally as a red line that Israel should not be allowed to cross - just as E-1 is the ultimate geopolitical red line. For many years, Netanyahu did not allow E-1 and the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar to proceed. He is now allowing both. Left unattended, the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar could be a matter of days.
