Isekai as a genre isn't bad, but it becomes a problem when you're pushing the same thing over and over.
[Reincarnated] person is considered weak/an outlier but apparently has a secret/skill that makes them the most powerful.
Forever chasing trends has led to this oversaturation.

I would say it had far more to do with quality (And I mean A LOT)
But yeah there’s way too many isekai anime and most of them ended up being really mediocre or just awful.
There’s a reason the “Kirito Copy” became a meme.
