Last year I said 2026 was going to be my global year, and I meant it. 🌍 I am so excited to share that I have been appointed as a member of the UNICEF Youth Health Advisory Group. Being the only Nigerian and the only West African in the group is a privilege and responsibility I do not take for granted. For the next year, I'll be working with young advocates from around the world to create campaigns and influence policy that improves the health of children globally. This is exactly the kind of work I have been building toward and I am so ready. Grateful, grounded, and ready to get to work. 🙏🏾

Meet Dolapo @Dolapo__Kolapo currently on fully funded Msc scholarship at University of Minnesota, USA 🇺🇸. Helping people get opportunities abroad, either free or paid, is one of my greatest fulfilment. I can post testimonies almost everyday.

My personal experience on this 👇 After I got my admission to Germany 🇩🇪 in 2020, my girlfriend (now wife) was very skeptical about when I would come back for her. Her concerns were valid, her environment was filled with stories of women who hadn’t seen their husbands for years after they traveled abroad. To be honest, even I didn’t fully know how the future would play out. All I had was my full commitment to her, despite the distance. We prayed about it and agreed to continue with a long distance relationship. The plan was: maybe when I start a PhD, I’d come back, marry her, and take her along. We also started exploring other options like Canada Express Entry along the way etc. But life had a better plan. During my MSc, I got an international job offer from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. In the HR email, they asked me to send the passport details of my wife so they could process her visa to the Netherlands 🇳🇱. I was shocked 😳 I replied immediately to confirm. I told them I wasn’t married yet, but asked: “Do you mean if I’m married, you can sponsor my wife, even if she’s in Nigeria?” They said yes. Omo… I can’t explain the joy I felt that day 😭 That same day, I started planning my wedding 😂 I resumed work in September, traveled to Nigeria in November to marry my babe, and by February, my employer had processed everything and she joined me abroad. Just like that. So yeah… I guess we were lucky. But more than luck, I’d say it was faith, timing, and commitment aligning perfectly.

Someone I know got married the same year I did, and she’s still waiting for her husband in Nigeria. He travelled out shortly after the wedding. I’m already three children in…she has none. These men will marry women, leave them behind for years, then build a whole life elsewhere, sometimes even with children, while expecting the woman at home to remain faithful. If you knew you were going to leave, why get married in the first place? Why put someone else’s life on hold like that?

Last photo of Brazilian tourist, 26-year-old Juliana Marins, who was left to die by her Indonesian tour guide after she fell during a hike on Mount Rinjani. After becoming exhausted during the trek, Juliana was left behind while the guide continued ahead with the rest of the group. Not long after, she slipped and fell hundreds of meters down the mountain. Drone footage later showed she was still alive after the fall, trapped on a steep slope below the trail. Rescue teams reportedly knew where she was but failed to reach her in time, leaving her without food, water, or proper protection in the cold. Days later, Juliana was found dead. An autopsy said she died from severe trauma and internal bleeding after the fall.
