April 21 is Grounation Day. To everyone in the WRDSB community celebrating, we want to wish you a Happy Grounation Day. This day is one of two very important Rastafari holy days, and is celebrated in honour of Haile Selassie's 1966 visit to Jamaica.

April 20 is Ridvan. We join with Baha’is around the world in celebrating the 12-day festival of Ridvan which signifies the 12 days Baha’u’llah spent in the Garden of Ridvan.

Apr. 18 is Good Friday for the Christian community. It is a somber day of prayer commemorating the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Apr. 20 is Easter Sunday for the Christian community. Apr. 21 is Easter Monday and is remembrance of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.

Today is Refugee Rights Day. This day is celebrated on April 4th each year to mark the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Singh decision, which found that the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects the fundamental rights of refugees.
