📊 #CBCG Strengthens Financial Stability and Macroprudential Supervision in Line with 🇪🇺 Standards🤝🇲🇪🇪🇺🇧🇪🇳🇱 An expert mission of @NBB_BNB_FR 🇧🇪 is currently taking place at #CBCG 🇲🇪 as part of the #CBCG #NeedsAssessment project, aimed at aligning the Central Bank of Montenegro with the standards of the #ESCB and, subsequently, the Eurosystem. 🤝🇪🇺🏦 Key topics discussed include financial stability and macroprudential policy, including the institutional and operational framework within the #ESCB and the Eurosystem, as well as practices related to systemic risk analysis and the calibration of capital buffers. Particular focus is placed on the exchange of experience regarding the use of data and analytical tools in assessing financial stability, as well as borrower-based macroprudential measures related to the housing market. This cooperation represents an important step in bringing #CBCG closer to the European institutional and operational framework and in further strengthening its capacities in line with #ESCB and Eurosystem standards. 🇪🇺📈 The #CBCG #NeedsAssessment project is implemented by @DNB_NL 🇳🇱and @NBB_BNB_FR 🇧🇪. Forensic experts from 🇷🇸 visited the Netherlands Forensic Institute 🇳🇱 in The Hague to exchange knowledge on forensic methods, digital forensics, quality systems & ballistic examinations. Within the WB SALW Control Roadmap #MPTF, funded by 🇩🇪🇸🇪🇳🇱🇫🇷🇬🇧🇳🇴 with 🇪🇺 support.

Rule of Law colleagues from our embassies in 🇦🇱 🇧🇦 🇽🇰 🇲🇪 🇲🇰 🇷🇸 🇲🇩 🇺🇦 visited Brussels today. At meetings with DGENEST, DGJUST, think tanks and colleagues from EU countries we emphasised that steps on the EU accession path demands progress on rule of law.

Upholding the independence of judges and the autonomy of public prosecutors, and strengthening the integrity of the overall justice system, should be at the core of EU accession efforts of all candidate member states.

The Netherlands shares the European Commission’s concerns about recent legislative changes and the implications for Serbia’s judiciary and prosecution service. The adopted laws are a step back on Serbia’s EU accession path and run contrary to Serbia’s commitments.

Ambassador Elgersma together with colleagues met with the representatives of the Prosecutors’ Association of Serbia and the Judges’ Association of Serbia – both longstanding partners of the Dutch Embassy – to discuss recent developments affecting Serbia’s justice system.
