Across #Lebanon, thousands of displaced families - whether in collective shelters or hosted within communities - rely on safe water to survive. Without it, the risk of disease rises, especially for children. UNICEF is working to ensure access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services for those affected, but needs remain urgent and high. This #WorldWaterDay, the message is clear: #EveryChild needs safe water. Amid ongoing hostilities in #Lebanon, ensuring the safe continuity of mine action operations remains critical. With UNDP support, @LebMineAction is advancing contingency planning and coordination so operations can adapt safely while protecting affected communities and teams on the ground, in partnership with @EUinLebanon and @NLinLebanon.

On Tuesday, the first humanitarian flight arrived in Beirut, bringing 45 tons of emergency supplies from @eu_echo & @UNICEFLebanon for people affected by the conflict. At this critical time in Lebanon, we remain committed to supporting children and families across the country.

Humanitarian needs in Lebanon are increasing rapidly. Through its partnership program with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, @DutchRelief is releasing €3 million for emergency aid in Lebanon. Partner organizations will provide food, water, and psychosocial support.

Het geweld in Libanon en de oplopende spanningen in het Midden-Oosten zijn zeer zorgelijk. Ik sprak hierover met mijn Libanese collega @MGMichelMenassa. Nederland ondersteunt Libanon om stabiliteit in de regio te versterken, iets wat direct onze veiligheid en belangen raakt.

The violence in Lebanon and the rising tensions in the Middle East are deeply concerning. I discussed this with my Lebanese counterpart @MGMichelMenassa. The Netherlands supports Lebanon in strengthening stability in the region, which directly affects our security and interests.

On International Women’s Day we recognise the essential role of women and girls in our societies. Their leadership strengthens communities, economies and peace. Promoting women’s rights and gender equality remains a core priority of Dutch foreign policy. #IWD 1/2

نظمت جمعية إمبرايس جلسة توعية حول الوقاية من الانتحار في مدرسة راهبات القلبين الأقدسين في كفرحباب، حضرتها مجموعة من أهالي الطلاب من الجنسية اللبنانية، وتضمنت التعريف بالرقم الوطني للدعم النفسي 1564، بالإضافة إلى تعلم مهارات الدعم النفسي والتعامل مع ضغوط الحياة اليومية. (1/2)

100 caseworkers in #Lebanon have completed specialized training on caring for child survivors. Their graduation was marked on Social Workers Day together with @mosalebofficial and the @NLinLebanon. The training strengthens frontline services for children affected by abuse and exploitation, contributing to the national child protection system. Full press release: uni.cf/4sa61L3

Child labour in Lebanon is rising amid deep economic and social crises. More children are working in agriculture, on the streets and in hazardous conditions - instead of being in school. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Labour, and in partnership with Plan International the ILO supported the launch of the revision of Lebanon’s National Action Plan to eliminate the worst forms of child labour. Through the @IloProspects partnership funded by the @NLinLebanon, the ILO in Lebanon provides technical and financial support to ensure the updated plan is evidence-based, aligned with SDG 8.7 and focused on prevention, protection and enforcement. Protection of vulnerable children is a priority of Dutch foreign and aid policy. Therefore very happy to contribute to the training, and honouring, of social workers in Lebanon, who are often so important as first point of recourse for these children #StopChildAbuse

👉As part of the National Stormwater Management Strategy project, funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Lebanon @NLinLebanon, in partnership with @MSFEA_AUB and @fas_aub, our Institute held a productive progress meeting with the Ministry of Energy and Water, represented by project coordinator @rouaalfares, to discuss progress and upcoming activities. This initiative supports the development of a comprehensive national framework to address rising flood risks, water pollution, and fragmented governance, challenges intensified by climate change, rapid urbanization, and institutional constraints. Focusing on legal, policy, and strategic gaps rather than infrastructure design, the project aims to advance a unified, sustainable, and climate-resilient approach to stormwater management across Lebanon.

Last week, the embassy hosted the WorldCoaches Certificate Ceremony. A big congratulations to the eight Lebanese coaches who completed the KNVB WorldCoaches programme! 👏 Implemented by the Royal Dutch Football Association and Dawaer.
