The NMCP COVID-19 Drive-Thru hours for the Thanksgiving weekend. Thanksgiving Day - closed. It will open again at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 27. Drive thru will be closed, Saturday, Nov. 28, and Sunday, Nov. 29. Normal operations will resume on Monday, Nov. 30.

UPDATE: As of 1:30 p.m., NSA Hampton Roads - Portsmouth Annex Gate 1 has resumed normal operations. Gate 2 will remain open to ease the flow of traffic.

Expect delays in getting to NMCP and give yourself ample time to gain access to the base.  We will provide more updates as they become available.

Per NSA Hampton Roads – Portsmouth Annex, Gate 1 (Main Gate), is closed due to flooding on the main street leading into the base.  All traffic is being directed to Gate 2 (back gate at Spratley Street and Parkview Avenue)  until further notice.

Beginning on Jan. 1, 2021, premiums for TYA coverage will increase. TYA Select will increase by 12.7% and TYA Prime by 22%. These changes reflect the increase in TYA program costs for calendar year 2021. For more information, please visit tricare.mil.

The Pharmacy at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is currently experiencing issues that are delaying pharmacy wait times at its main location. The issues are being addressed but it is expected that pharmacy wait times will be affected for the rest of the week.

Today is National Check Your Meds Day. The Military Health System established the Drug Take Back program to help beneficiaries properly dispose of their prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.

The third Friday in October each year is National Mammography Day, first proclaimed by President Clinton in 1993. On this day, or throughout the month, women are encouraged to make a mammography appointment.
