The Corris is a better line to visit locally. I’m sorry I love any chance to visit a preserved railway but the Talyllyn felt more like a Disney style attraction to me. Had a far better time whilst riding behind the new(ish) Tattoo and replica coaches, where it was far nicer.

@AntCoulls … gets but for me personally I find the Corris to be more enjoyable for lines in the same area. It’s all matter of opinion and the post did ask for unpopular ones. Just the impression I got of the place, especially comparing the two places as I went to both on the same weekend

@BTS_Ott @Expl_Cookie It hasn’t, it’s down the origin of the company making the products. Wooden Railway led by US designers = US influence (Sodor Caboose, signs, terminology used) Tomica World led by Japanese designers = Japanese influence (buildings, accessories) It all needs localisation.

@l0rdliberty @Expl_Cookie @lonely_loco “RailRoad” was a British term long before Americans used it, it’s more how the property is being handled. Growing up in the 90s with Thomas, it was distinctly British in appearance. Rewatching it with a 3 year old again, it still is. Why US styling is used still is baffling.

The decoration on the original Trackmaster Flying Scotsman annoyed me greatly (the steam clouds) so after buying the 80th one, I’ll be replacing the Tenders and Chassis. Body will be painted and a few tweaks will be carried out eventually 🥳

@SuperThomasEli …I was building and in the end up I went for a few N Gauge kits that were modified gently and face areas were painted grey to suit. I’ve seen someone on Facebook building Thomas stock and scenic items adapting toys and other models, might be worth reaching out to them.

I think this is a good time to mention that trackmaster 2 tracks are ridiculously steep, like these were designed for the 2014 engines, NOT for the large aeg, 80th, and now 2026 engines. Those slopes are far outdated imo

NM has a collection of Trackmaster2 with a few Tomy items scattered in between. First thought is that it’d be pretty easy to change the rear coupling for a genuine Tomy spare, no need for 3D printing which is a bonus 🤔 Are these in the UK yet?

@TheLilWestern Victoria isn’t too out of place considering that coaching stock other than the low slung tramcars were also used on the W&U, it’s her livery that is jarring. Also could go with a rake of Toby + Elsie + Victoria + Henrietta given photos of the line and how it ran.

Gonna be real, I do not like Victoria joining Toby’s consist at all. Especially since Victoria never gets a matching orange livery with Henrietta and Elsie. But even that aside there’s no satisfying way to arrange the train that doesn’t look like it was just thrown together.
