Afroman’s attorney, David Osborne, argued the case was about free speech and musical expression. Osborne pointed to Afroman, wearing an American flag suit, and said: “Does this look like a man who thinks that everybody’s going to assume that everything he’s saying is fact?” The jury ruled in Afroman’s favor on all counts. wapo.st/4sojE9N

Congratulations and thank you to Afroman for highlighting police dishonesty and defending the First Amendment. A win for police accountability and America (that suit!).
Meghann Cuniff@meghanncuniff

Afroman spoke to reporter @iamjayshakur after a jury sided with him in a defamation lawsuit brought by sheriff's officials in Adams County, Ohio. "I didn't win America won. America still has freedom of speech. It's still for the people, by the people," Afroman said.

A study of "wandering" police officers in the Yale Law Journal found a problem bigger than expected. About 1,100 officers in Florida alone walk the streets having been fired in the past, 800 for misconduct. The problem extends to numerous states in the US. pbs.org/newshour/natio…

Just 1 week after the 6th anniversary of her murder. These officers killed Breonna Taylor during a botched, no-knock raid that uncovered no drugs. From a DOJ that earlier this month quietly rescinded no-knock warrants. This is not justice. This is not a dept that is interested in accountability.

We love that people are eager to provide their support to our friends inside, but we request that everyone hold off in the meantime, as they will be moving facilities in the near future. We will update with information once we have it.

Leqaa Kordia was released today after a year of federal detention, enabled by data-sharing between the NYPD and ICE. As S.T.O.P.'s Eleni Manis and Michelle Dahl write, "It's the predictable consequence of NYC's out-of-control surveillance infrastructure." amny.com/news/op-ed-mam…

No matter the verdict, we will keep fighting whatever charges remain. We still need to raise money for two state-level lawyers. givesendgo.com/supportdfwprot…

Say it out loud. Hear the words, how they feel on your tongue. Sana sana colita de rana, si no sanara hoy, sanara mañana. Don't forget about the Prairieland defendants. Don't forget what this was about. Don't forget the children, the families, the people in cages.

Sana Sana colita de rana Si no sanara hoy, sanara mañana Mari said this to her mom on a jail call. Prosecutor told the jury it was antifa code It's a children's rhyme: "Heal, heal, little tail of the frog. If you don't heal today, you'll heal tomorrow." Heartbreaking. Evil.
