All too frequently, the media coverage is about what is wrong with the juvenile justice system…bad programming, bad decisions, bad leadership or staff. While those do occur, NPJS wants to use this space to share the good news, the positive impacts, the quality programs, the new research, and all the efforts in between to help youth and families. Please celebrate the Good Works and also feel free to make nominations here: bit.ly/4mdYeZu #GoodWorks

Join us tomorrow, March 3rd at 12pm EST for the 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 & 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, led by Discipline Group Chair, Ted Ryle. Dr. Daniel Sheridan, Co-Director of Behavior Analytic Services at the Alabama Department of Youth Services, will be joining us for a presentation on Implementing Behavioral Frameworks in Practice: Aligning Planning, Practice, and Data. This discussion will describe how a behavioral framework is applied in a juvenile residential facility to align staff practice and youth programming with rehabilitative goals. Dr. Sheridan will outline how planning is operationalized into observable staff and resident behaviors, supported by training and ongoing data collection. The focus is on how real-time metrics are used to monitor implementation, identify barriers, and guide adjustments as conditions change, while ensuring staff and youth voices are at the center of these changes. If you're not on our email list but would like to be part of this or a future Discipline Group Meeting, please email Cristy.Malott@NPJS.org.
