The UFC, which will stage fights on the White House lawn, counts many immigrants and foreign citizens among its fighters, and the lightweight champion came from a refugee family. From NPR’s Newsmakers:

💥NEW: Dana White *CLAPS BACK* when NPR’s Steve Inskeep says polls show young men abandoning TRUMP💥 “I don’t really believe much in polls. He wasn’t supposed to win the first election. And he wasn’t supposed to win the second election based on polling. And he won both.”

Dana White’s UFC will stage fights at the White House June 14. We talked about it on NPR: “Everybody thought that I was going to build a card, America versus the world, where we did the exact opposite. America is a country of immigrants that all came from somewhere else and they’re all going to be represented.” 1/2

Today is the start of the WNBA season, and every player has multiplied her salary from the season before. The lowest-paid player this year makes more than the highest-paid last year. I had a talk with Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx, a star on the court and a presence off the court - she slammed league management as the worst in the world before the contract was done. What does she think about that denunciation now? And how is she thinking about her own future after signing a one-year, $1.4m contract? Also how does she respond when fans who bet on her games make death threats? The answers are in our video interview. 1/2

Puzzled by this. The NYT shows a remark by Carlson you seem to approve. You say it is *not* contested. And *that* means the NYT is secretly *against* the idea you found in the NYT? They’re hiding the idea by publishing it? Consider the possibility it’s a good interview.
Mohsen, Esq.@mFarshneshani

In his NYT interview, Tucker Carlson raises a point with obvious salience to its audience. Instead of pulling the thread, @lulugnavarro pivots away. The interview is full of moments like this— Tucker raises points that cut across the usual “left vs right” framing, many of which Americans broadly agree on, and they’re simply not engaged or contested. But why? Does it cut against the outlet of record’s editorial line? Would engaging the point breathe life into ideas they’d rather keep off the table?
