Also, we are not a sporty/footy family, this was his only space to talk with people about his biggest passion being rugby and the panthers, that we did not share, so we also thank everyone for being apart of his final years. 🥰❤️

Refs interpretation of Advantage these days is so confusing these days - some can run 15-20m and be no advantage, some run 10 and advantage played - obviously it’s refs discretion- but what about just making a free play rule?

@pikey14 I was usually strict on 10m unless trapped down sideline, or otherwise impeded - you’re right you can feel the difference - however what we see in weekly NRL, there’s no consistency and a huge variation between the refs, I would like an agreed advantage - or free play

@NRLFan1967 I refereed for 10. You could feel if there was an advantage. It would be nice if there was a set advantage that was agreed on

@pikey14 I was a ref for over 25 years - 10m was always the judgement, it is up to the referee, however it isn’t consistent - and there seems to be a decent fix to it - the super league brought in the feee play rule a while back, unsure if it’s still in play

@HollandOates91 Except it isn’t utilised like that by the referees and this is the problem - Thursday play was allowed to go 18m and No advantage - today 11m trapped towards the sideline was advantage played

How could anyone with a brain think that’s worth a penalty, let alone a penalty try? You can’t go from attempting to catch a ball to making a tackle that quickly. Would the supposed tackle not being made even been the difference between a try and no try? #NRLDragonsSharks
