Your coach is doing EVERYTHING they can to put you in position for success. Are your choices aligning with this success? Or, are you choices aligning with mediocrity?

Love this but would also add that after you earn a spot, it’s not a guarantee that you keep that spot. On the court and Off the court matters!

If you are a current athlete, being coached by a former athlete, you are fooling yourself if you think you are hiding anything. They may not say anything but they see it.

Can we stop normalizing talking crap and gossiping as a form of bonding? In reality, it only shows we have nothing in common, lack passion in our own lives, have nothing more meaningful to talk about, and exposes our insecurities.

Being an athlete is an investment. The currency is TIME. Just like with real money investing, be absolutely certain you are getting the best return on your investment. Private Coaches, Travel Sports, High School, Rec League. Which is actually giving you the best return?

The more emotional you get, the more distracted you are from the task, separated from the goal.

We are all a product of our individual choices. Each decision point is a fork that can take us to success or failure. If you are in a bad place, look back and check YOUR CHOICES.

Your increased heart rate and racing thoughts are your body preparing you to do something you never thought possible. Don’t let fear cause you to quit. Don’t fight your fear. Be afraid. Do it anyway.

Unreasonable expectations (entitlement) destroys a positive mindset. Because I didn’t get a home run, I fail to recognize my 2 base hits, the triple and 3 runs scored. Because I didn’t play where I wanted, I fail to recognize I played and contributed to a win.
