Yet they've never stopped firing missiles and drones. The Iranians have been targeted by Israeli assassinations for decades, they have a mosiac defense structure, one dude just replaced the guy that got assassinated. Their "Air Force" was a bunch of late Soviet era Migs and F-4s. While they do have some newer navy ships, they're once again not the main thrust of the Iranian Military. The main thrust has been blowing up bases, embassies and now oil& infrastructure for the last two weeks. Congratulations, the casualties are low because fundamentally nothing has changed. They can still shoot ballistic missiles and probably will be able to for months, they got enough drones to drop hundreds on the region everyday for at least the next year. All of the enriched uranium still is in Irans possession, and the regime isn't remotely close to collapsing. I wish I had the incompetency to lose 10s of billions of dollar in Radars, 10s of billions in base repairs, 10s of billions in ammunition and having accomplished 0 of the war goals.

Imagine if the countries roles were reversed. With the President VP and 90% of Trump’s cabinet killed and we indicted minimal casualties on the other side. Would you say that the other side is “losing control?”

You mean the same DoD that has said they destroyed all of Irans Air Defense? 🤣 How about the same DoD that said we had wiped out 70% of their launchers within 3 days yet somehow that last 30% just can't be destroyed. Same DoD that has had every major base in the region hit and $10b+ in radars destroyed, that DoD?

@SAlwashahi Arab countries supported the ayatollahs to kill and butcher more than 40,000 of their own innocent people in just two nights. You get what you deserve. For 47 years you’ve just enjoyed life while Iranian people suffered. It’s the time to support Shah Reza Pahlavi

War with Iran was near universally predicted to usher in WWIII 10k US casualties in 1st months. Houthis blocking Suez, Iran blocking Straits. Hez + Hamas tying down Israel on 2 fronts. China & Russia gobbling territories w/ US pinned down NONE of that has happened

The window for an uprising has closed. Even Israeli intelligence says there's 0 signs of regime collapse. In the end the regime will stay the same, they will keep their ballistic missile program and they will make some type of deal on the nuclear front. Same as was offered in Geneva.

@RangersSince64 They are generally incompetent and broadly bumbling. But it’s just objectively false to pretend that to date things aren’t going well Obviously key question is how the uprising takes shape but for now…hitting all the marks to set it up to be as successful as it COULD be

The 10k casualties was dependent on a ground invasion which hasn't happened. Houthis don't need to block the suez, because Iran has blocked the strait and hit Saudi Arabia's West terminal. Hezbollah is tying down Israel in the north, and the IDF are suffering major tank casualties. Regional air defense has essentially collapsed, leading to the GCC of getting hit dozens of times even though the U.S. Just got trillions in defense agreements (which they obviously aren't holding up) Omani Oil sold for $150 a barrel, and now $200 a barrel for the first time ever. Both Brent and WTI are skyrocketing. So we basically started the onset of a global recession, and nothing has changed in Iran, the government is still in charge, they're still firing off ballistic missiles. They've still got all the enriched uranium they had before the war started.

There was no justification for the war to begin with, once final casualty figures come out we'll find out the numbers reported are much higher than DoD are telling us. Iranian are still shipping oil everyday while the've hit our bases and destroyed billions in radars. The only thing dumber cheeto man can do is push for a land invasion.

@6Voodoo On the other hand, if it effects perspectives of the war at all here at home, then we are so averse to war that we no longer even need casualties to 'feel' it. Which speaks to a complete other issue of the pussification of the American electorate.

Anyone arguing that minor damage to a US aircraft, sustained while lollygagging over hostile airspace is an epoch altering event is arguing the US military is so strong that the mere damaging of one of its weapons is a great feat.

Cool, there's more than 300 drones a day being fired in the region. On top of that almost every single major radar dish in the region has been destroyed. So you're going to be sending A-10s in a search area the size of western Europe looking for a drone with a cross radar of 1m with no stationary radars.

As I read hot takes on Iran, something is becoming very clear....there's a lot of people who are mentally trapped in Iraq/Afghanistan mental framework, seemingly unaware of the advances in military technology since we wrapped the retrograde from both countries. It's been 12 years since we've done something similar to the current operation in Iran. The US absolutely has robust capabilties to defend against Iran's backyard drones. None of which were even imagined when we closed up Iraq/Afg. (Not to mention a decent 50 cal gunner could probably take down these drones) This isn't a commentary on whether or not we should or shouldn't, but there's a lot of people who need to do some homework before popping off on social media.

@geneserafim @FloppingAces Also ICBMs are a classification of the range of the ballistic missile. In order for Iran to be a threat, they would need to cross this threshold, which is 5500km, with the D.C. being over 10000km.

Why is matters is that an ICBM is Irans only reasonable delivery method that Iran could possess in order to stick a nuclear warhead on. They barely had an air force before the war, and their navy was never really setup for long deployments outside of their region. The justification for the war was that Iran was an imminent threat to the U.S. but they have no delivery mechanism to get the warhead to the U.S. Making the underlying justification for the war a lie, and that's once again ignoring what was stated by the DNI in testimony today.

Take a hard look at the arsenal Tehran has painstakingly forged over decades. It's not just hardware...it's a doomsday toolkit designed for extortion and dominance. Ballistic missiles that can rain fire across the region in minutes. Swarm drones...cheap, relentless, and built to overwhelm defenses like locusts on steroids. Proxy armies...Hezbollah, Houthis, Iraqi militias, and more...Tehran's deniable hit squads bleeding enemies without direct fingerprints. These aren't defensive toys. They're the means to choke the world. Iran sits astride the Strait of Hormuz...that narrow, lethal artery where roughly 20% of global oil flows every single day. One mine, one swarm, one blockade, and energy prices skyrocket, economies convulse, and superpowers scramble. Now imagine that same regime...already the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism...armed with nuclear weapons. A nuclear Iran wouldn't just threaten Israel or Saudi Arabia. It would hold the global economy by the throat. Every tanker captain, every oil trader, every central banker would wake up knowing one fatwa, one miscalculation, one "accidental" closure could trigger worldwide panic, recession, and chaos. That's not a hypothetical. That's the red-line nightmare staring us down right now. Ignore it, and the mullahs win the ultimate leverage play. Confront it head-on, and the game changes forever.
