A trip to the @NEStatePatrol Training Academy isn’t complete without visiting our top shelf @NSP_DogDivision. It’s always impressive to see the dedication, patience, and pride our Troopers bring to this specialized training. Huge shoutout to Trooper Rice & PSD RJ and Trooper Royle & PSD Phoenix! These teams are working hard toward dual purpose certification in both narcotics and patrol. I’m proud of the entire PSD Unit and the vital work they do to protect and serve Nebraska. 💪🏻🇺🇸🚔🐕

PSD handlers use TFO knowledge and technology to send intel to other agencies for fugitive apprehension. This Merrick County fugitive was apprehended in possession of a firearm in Topeka KS, due to information sharing with one of our handlers! Thanks! #TopekaPD #USMS

HIDTA partnerships are key in keeping our communities safe. The Midwest HIDTA’s partnership with Nebraska State Patrol recently helped locate a missing 8-year-old girl. Well done to our men and women for bringing her home! statepatrol.nebraska.gov/troopers-rescu… @MidwestHIDTA @NEStatePatrol

October is public servant recognition month in Nebraska. We’re pleased to share the story put together by @NEDept_AdmSrvs of our Trooper Excellence in Leadership award winner: Trooper Austin Donner. 🌟 Employee Spotlight: Austin - Excellence in Leadership Award Recipient 🌟 Meet Austin, a Police Service Dog Handler and Trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol’s Special Operations Division. With 10 years of service, Austin has built an impressive career dedicated to protecting Nebraska communities through courage, skill, and leadership. Austin began his journey with the Nebraska State Patrol as a civilian employee in the Criminal Identification Division before being sworn in as a trooper in 2015. Over the years, he has served in Carrier Enforcement, Traffic Services, and now in the Police Service Dog Unit, where he uses his K9 partner to locate dangerous suspects, recover evidence, and help resolve high-risk incidents safely. In addition to his K9 duties, Austin serves on the SWAT Team, Bomb Squad, and as a Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Service. His work directly impacts the safety and security of Nebraskans by apprehending violent offenders, managing critical incidents, and neutralizing threats that endanger the public. Austin’s favorite part of the job is finding and removing dangerous individuals from the streets, knowing his efforts make a real difference in keeping Nebraska families safe. His leadership, adaptability, and dedication to service exemplify the mission of the Nebraska State Patrol. Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time with his family, building FPV drones, 3D printing, and listening to podcasts. A fun fact—he also holds a Master’s Degree in Education! His guiding quote is: “Aut inveniam viam aut faciam” — “I will find a way or make one.” We are proud to recognize Austin as an Excellence in Leadership Award recipient. Congratulations, Austin, and thank you for your bravery, dedication, and outstanding service to the Nebraska State Patrol and the State of Nebraska! 🚓🐾💙 Congratulations, #93!
