#RFS and FRNSW crews are on scene at a multi-truck crash on the Hume Highway near Breadalbane, south-west of Goulburn. Five trucks are alight and a 300m exclusion zone is in place. The Hume Hwy is closed both ways. Avoid the area: brnw.ch/21x3Khv

Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson visited the #RFS Training Academy in Dubbo today. Hosted by Acting Commissioner Kelly Quandt AFSM, they met with our Learning and Development team and aviation course students.

The 2026 Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards finalists were announced today at NSW Parliament House by Minister for Emergency Services Jihad Dib. Congrats and best of luck to our four #RFS finalists: Leigh Walsh, Malcolm Alexander, John Sullivan OAM and William Lee.

Following a request from NSW Police to support an investigation in far north-west NSW, an #RFS fire investigator and an FRNSW canine and handler were deployed. Due to the remote location and the time-sensitive nature of the investigation, the team travelled on an RFS aircraft.

Earlier today, the #RFS 737 Large Air Tanker ‘Marie Bashir’ departed RAAF Richmond, beginning its journey to the United States. After crossing the Pacific, she will arrive in California and over the coming months provide support to West Coast fire agencies and communities.

A new national warning system, AusAlert, will be tested in the Liverpool area tomorrow afternoon. The test will take place at 4pm in the vicinity of Heathcote Rd and Newbridge Rd. If you are near the test area, your device may receive a test alert. ausalert.gov.au

It was a lucky escape early this morning for a family who woke to find a fire burning in their garage. Firefighters from the #RFS & FRNSW arrived quickly, with crews from Galston & Arcadia extinguishing the fire, which is believed to have started in an electric vehicle charger.

#RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW have worked to extinguish a fire burning in a building on Station Street at Menangle (Wollondilly LGA).
It took more than 15 fire trucks to bring the fire under control. Local road closures remain in place while emergency services remain on scene.
