The @Telegraph article "The blood sugar spikes damaging your brain and how to avoid them" presents five swaps - advice from nutritionist Eva Humphries... Every image completely misses the point. If blood sugar is damaging your brain - cut carbs - don't swap them! 🙄

“A hospital in Barcelona sits right across from the beach. So they started wheeling ICU patients to the shore. Ten minutes of sunlight and waves — and doctors say it changes everything. Hospital del Mar in Barcelona sits directly across from the Mediterranean. For years, staff have been wheeling ICU patients to the beachfront as part of a program to "humanize" intensive care. Doctors say even 10 minutes of sunlight and waves can improve a patient's well-being and recovery. The program gained worldwide attention during COVID-19, when patients who spent weeks sedated on ventilators were taken to the beach. One patient, after 52 days in the ICU, said: "It's one of the best days I remember." Staff monitor vital signs throughout each visit. Dr. Judith Marín said the team had been doing therapeutic outings for two years before the pandemic. The hospital is now studying whether beach visits improve long-term recovery.” facebook.com/10006474810464…

One of the most commonly prescribed blood pressure medications is thiazide diuretics like Hydrochlorothiazide. What do diuretics do? Make you pee out sodium and water. So, we identified that too much salt and water retention raises blood pressure. Then instead of asking why the kidneys are retaining sodium, we gave people a pill to flush it out. The cause never got a question. Just a prescription that has known side effects that include depletion of potassium, increase in uric acid and worsening of insulin resistance.

@DIY_Tardis Hi Tony, in this trial, the company (Eledon) gave the participants a new immunosuppressant drug called Tegoprubart, which, unlike others, does not come with harmful side effects.

A gazelle with its head in the grass has a tenth of a second to hit max speed or become a meal. No warmup. No stretching. No foam roller. Just full send from zero. Because that's what a disease-free body can do.

Physician Opportunity – Multi-State Licensed Physicians (Remote MRI Biometrics Analysis) We are building one of the most innovative medical practices in the world and are seeking physicians who hold active medical licenses in multiple U.S. states. Physicians with broad licensure coverage (locum tenens physicians or those licensed in many or all states) are especially encouraged to apply. This position is not a traditional clinical role. Instead, physicians are trained to analyze and interpret novel biological biomarkers identified on MRI imaging that are not routinely evaluated in conventional radiology reports. These biomarkers provide powerful insights into metabolic health, adipose tissue distribution, and early disease risk—information that can meaningfully change the trajectory of a patient’s health when properly identified and communicated. All MRI scans are already interpreted by board-certified radiologists for conventional findings. Your role focuses exclusively on analyzing advanced biometrics and biological markers that are part of our proprietary health optimization model. Position Highlights •Fully remote telework – work from home •Flexible schedule •Compensation exceeding typical radiology interpretation rates •Medical malpractice coverage provided by our practice •Training provided in advanced MRI biomarker analysis •No traditional clinical care responsibilities •Opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing medical innovation platform Ideal Candidate We welcome physicians from any specialty (psychiatry, pathology, internal medicine, surgery, etc.). Prior radiology experience is not required. Ideal candidates will possess: •Active medical licenses in multiple U.S. states (locum physicians especially encouraged) •Licenses in good standing •Interest in health optimization and disease prevention •Appreciation for natural and lifestyle-based strategies •Strong communication skills •Curiosity and openness to learning innovative medical biometrics •Personal ambition and a desire to help patients reverse disease rather than simply treat it Our Mission Our practice focuses on identifying hidden drivers of disease through advanced imaging biomarkers, helping patients eliminate harmful fat depots and optimize metabolic health long before traditional medicine recognizes a problem. We believe the future of medicine lies in early biological optimization rather than late disease management. To Apply Interested physicians should email their CV and list of active state licenses to: Ben@DrSeanOMara.com

1) Consistent strength training They've worked with a personal trainer 2x/week since 2002. One-hour sessions focused on weightlifting and cardio. At 87, my dad is still lifting weights. It’s important here to find a trainer who specializes with older adults.

You may have seen headlines or social media posts claiming that ketones increase the risk of heart attacks and that this proves ketogenic diets are dangerous for heart health. But when you actually examine the study behind those claims, the data tell a very different story. In this video, @bschermd takes a closer look at a recent paper published in the Journal of the American Heart Association that analyzed circulating ketone levels in participants from the UK Biobank. The study has been widely shared online as evidence against ketogenic diets. The issue? The participants weren’t following a ketogenic diet at all. Instead, researchers measured very small baseline ketone levels in a general population that was consuming around 250 grams of carbohydrates per day, that’s far from the levels associated with nutritional ketosis.

Armenia’s Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, known as the Matenadaran, will display one of its rarest artifacts — the “Gospel of Shuryshkin,” a 15th-century Armenian manuscript long revered as a miraculous book. Also known as “Grandfather,” “Red,” and “Surp Barseg Kesaretsi,” the handwritten Gospel was created in 1498 in the village of Aspisnak, in the province of Kajberunik in the historic Van region. The manuscript was written by the priest and scribe Barseg, with authorship traditionally attributed to Turuand. According to historical tradition, the Gospel was relocated during the 1603–1604 deportations of Armenians to the village of Shuryshkin in the Persian province of Peria, where it was kept at the Monastery of St. Basil of Caesarea. To protect it from danger, the manuscript was hidden underground. A spring later formed above the hiding place, and the Gospel was recovered seven years later, largely undamaged. For centuries, believers have regarded the manuscript as a source of hope, healing, and answered prayers.

Healthspan vs Lifespan Lifespan is the total number of years a person lives. Healthspan is the number of those years lived in good health, without major chronic disease or disability. Today, many people are living longer but not necessarily healthier. Many individuals spend a significant part of later life managing chronic conditions such as: •Type 2 diabetes •Heart disease •Fatty liver •Kidney disease •Mobility limitations This gap between lifespan (how long we live) and healthspan (how long we remain healthy and functional) is widening. Metabolic health plays a major role in determining this difference. Insulin resistance, poor diet, low muscle mass, and sedentary lifestyles gradually reduce the number of years lived in good health. “The important thing to you is not how many years in your life, but how much life in your years!”- Edward J. Stieglitz
